Description

Brown & Tan Kelpie Female, no collar, 9 years old (looks older than this photo)

Message from Owner

Our female kelpie has disappeared off the back of our ute. She may have fallen off and we are hoping she wasn't taken. She was last seen at the St Johns hosp Day Surgery carpark (South Hobart). She could have fallen off between there and Salamanca Fresh on Davey street. She is a friendly dog but is scared by strangers. She has no collar but she is micro chipped. Please help us find her.

Illegal not to be safely tied in the back of a ute. Should never be unrestrained on the open road.

So glad your pooch has been found. Please have your pup ride inside the vehicle next time you take her out. I’ve seen so many terrified dogs unsecured on the backs of utes over the years. Just put some old towels on the seats if you’re worried about muddy paws.

Section 16(3) of the Dog Control Act 2000 says; (3) The owner or person in charge of a dog must restrict the dog sufficiently while it is in or on a vehicle so that it is UNABLE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE or attack any person or animal outside the vehicle. This section is about welfare for dogs. Hope the dog is okay and more dogs are safely secured in Ute's or better still riding upfront with their people.
