If outside access cat. Make sure to get fliers out. Door to door if possible. Check areas and ask neighbors to check where he could be trapped. This happens often. Sheds, garages, vacant homes, crawl spaces etc. Walk around softly calling and listen for faint Meows where he could be trapped. 80% of time they’re stuck inside something. Also check in person in case he was picked up at animal control. Wouldn’t rely on the phone, give them a flier and file a lost report. Flier the area. They work wonders.
