🎉CATS, CAT, KITTIES~ HOW TO FIND A LOST ONE: ✅ABSOLUTELY NEED TO PUT YOUR MAJOR INTERSECTION AND CITY (THEN YOUR SMALL CROSS STREETS IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD) IN THE 👉TOP OF YOUR POST. ✅ This lets people quickly see which part of the valley. ✅ And lets people in your subdivision, know which street you are talking about. ✅ Most cats are 10 houses or less from home. Put flyers up on your street (even on garage doors) and the one behind you, since cats go over the back fence to the next street. ✅ Also knock on your neighbor's doors and ask them to check their backyard bushes or sheds while you wait. Don't want them to forget. Stress urgency. ❌Don't put things like "if you see him or her let me know." That implies you're not really worried about it and time is of the essence to find a missing cat. ❌Sometimes people that love kitties will take them in and keep them. 😣 ❌Sometimes people that don't like cats will trap them and drop them off in a different neighborhood if they've been bothering them. 😖 ❌And cats going in a yard with big dogs are at risk. Some people think it's funny to let their dog out to grab cats. 😤 None of these people are likely to come forward. So this as well as cars and coyotes are why you want to find your cat quickly. 🚫Maricopa County is 10,000 square miles. That's worse than a needle in a haystack to look for a cat. 👎 ✅ This is why you want to start with the SMALLEST search area. Hence why it's important to put your location. 😉 ✅ The VERY BEST METHOD to find a pet in 2026 is the neighborhood apps. This is because they are like a mini Amber alert that goes out to your immediate vicinity. Your target search area. ❌ When owners post on Lost pet Facebook groups they go out to the whole valley or the whole state. That is not what you want. Law enforcement starts with a small area so they can thoroughly cover that area, then they expand their circle. We can apply the same concept to Lost pets. I find with pet owners, they tend to think bigger is better and immediately go to the whole valley or the whole state. As I mentioned Maricopa County is 10,000 square miles. It is NOT feasible to cover that large of a land mass looking for a pet thoroughly. ✅So keep your circle small, focus on that, then expand your circle. ✅This is why the neighborhood apps work so well. Next door covers 2-4 miles Neighbors by ring covers 8 (approximately) That is your target search area.♥️ Also do not put your phone number on neighbors by ring the scammers can be pretty bad on there. I recommend making a post on your Facebook page or next door and put your phone number on that. Then share the link for that post in the comment section on your neighbors by ring post. Also once your post goes live comment on it several times to get it going. Personally I would be checking my comments every 15 to 30 minutes in case someone pops up with a lead. I would not post on lost cat groups they are spread too far and going to reach people that are not in my immediate vicinity and likely to see my pet. I also would not post for at least a few days on the FB lost pet groups for the same reason. Plus on those groups you will be given a ton of different advice that pulls you into many directions. If your cat is only missing for a day focusing on the neighborhood apps and the Facebook group for your specific subdivision or City is best. We can't reach everyone in metropolitan Phoenix which is 35 + cities. But we can heavily reach many on our street and in our subdivision which is most likely where your pet is at. ♥️
