Check the surrounding shelters every day, not just the one in your city. Someone may have picked the dog up and not live near you, then dropped the dog at a shelter near them. It’s easy to do, go on their websites and scan the pictures. Also, go in person sometimes they hold dogs in the back that are not in the pictures. And also put posters up, because not everyone is on social media.

General information: Set up a scent station. Get a scent that the dog is familiar with out in front of the house. (EX. Worn clothing / shoes from family member dog lives with). Hang it out high so that the smell can travel and guide the dog back home. Keep an access point open in case the dog returns. Please post signs with the dogs' picture and your contact information on the sign. Post these signs all over as if someone spots your dog the person can contact you and provide a location of where the dog is. (Not everyone is on Social Media) Ask your neighbors to check their doorbell or house cameras (if applicable), sheds and garage. Call or go to the Animal Shelter in your area and tell them that your dog is missing and to see if it has been picked up.

File a lost report with the local animal shelter, and check the shelter a couple of times a week. Put the dog's unwashed towels and clothes outside on a hanger on a windowsill,a fire escape,a deck,a fence,the edge of the roof, put its owner's,or favorite person's unwashed clothes outside on a clothing line,or a hanger on a fence, deck,etc

Go to Seaaca animal shelter in person they don’t post every pet brought in on their website and don’t scan every pet. That can miss chip when scanning
