Older dog not very energetic. Very tired and sad.

I can't keep him as I have 2 dogs and 2 cats of my own. So I need to drop him off at the shelter tomorrow. His nails are clipped, but his coat is dirty and he has fleas. He doesn't want to eat either hard or wet dog food.

I took him into a vet and had him check for microchip. There is no chip

Thanks for helping him. Maybe lost or abandoned. Can you keep him safe and look for owner or new home? Check with neighbors and animal shelter in person. Put up a flyer with a face photo and phone number at convenience stores and intersections in addition to social media. Some are not online or not paying attention. Text or leave flyer at the neighbors, vet offices and the animal shelter. Put phone # in your post in case it gets forwarded to different social media.
