Does he have on a collar with a name tag and phone number on it and is he microchipped? Sadly we see thousands of dogs and puppies just like this euthanized daily in overcrowded shelters across the entire country. When they get picked up stray without identification on they only get a couple of days to make it out of the shelter alive and yes even puppies get killed and pregnant moms are dying in shelters daily but these owners don't bother to put identification on them and they can't make it home without it. Be sure to check the shelters be sure to post on Paw boost and next door app and be sure to notify your local mail carriers is they often see dogs on their routes And if you get him back be sure to put a collar and name tag and phone number on him if he doesn't have one and a microchip
