Sorry your pup is missing. Put his/her bed /blanket outside along with dirty laundry from family members to create a familiar scent(shirt, socks, pillowcase, sheets). Post on Next Door, Neighbors(Ring) app(you do not have to have a RING camera to use app. Post on any neighborhood/subdivision Chats or Facebook groups. Notify Non emergency # for Police, ask if they will post on their FB page. Notify Communications Specialist for the city your dog went missing to post on their FB page. Notify area Shelters. Get flyers up in 1-2 Mile radius from home for those not on social media. Put flyers on stop signs or main stoplight intersections. Since she is already skittish, suggest avoid calling out her name while searching. Instead, carry treat bag or good smelling food and just talk in normal voice as you walk, hoping he/she recognizes and pops out. If you have another dog that is a pal, walk area with dog to create a familiar scent. If you see your pup, get low to ground, avoid direct eye contact and pretend to be crying or eating making yummy yummy sounds hoping she will get curious and approach. Sadly, there are scammers that may tell you to check out a search team via Instagram or want to send you a code saying they have your dog. Do not respond. Hoping your dog is found soon.
