Message from Owner

Poncho is a former stray we took in from upstate New York. We went down to Long Island to visit family where Poncho escaped through a window the early morning of 2/14. He has been seen on neighbors' security cameras roaming, with the last confirmed sighting coming the night of 2/18. Poncho is very friendly, and we are hopeful someone will be able to find him soon. We miss him dearly!

Post on Nextdoor and Ring apps. Ask neighbors to check car hoods, garages and sheds immediately. Make sure to tap hoods of the car around. Keep an entryway open for cat to get in. Buy or loan a live cat trap from online stores or local tnr groups. Leave your garage open with cat to enter. Put some food and your clothing there for smell. Get a motion sensor camera to detect when cat is around your property

Look at night with a flashlight while calling his name. Look especially under bushes and in neighbors yards garages and sheds. Look up in trees, Leave something outside with his scent on it like his bedding. Leave something outside with your scent on it like an unwashed piece of clothing. Leave out smelly cat food. Hang signs with his photo. Call and visit local shelters and veterinary offices. Good luck!🍀

Ask your local mailman if they've seen your kitty or if they can keep an eye out.

Thank you everyone for the support, advice, and shares! We have done a lot of these steps (flyers, smelly food, leaving our clothing out, and traps), and family as well as neighbors in the area are keeping watch! We know Poncho can survive harsh conditions, he was a stray living in CNY in harsh winter conditions before we took him in...we just miss him very much! 🩷
