Here are a few ideas Since he is an inside/outside cat he may be frightened or spooked and most likely hiding close, and afraid. You can sit outside on your door threshold or front porch quietly in the evening, maybe with food. When he feels safe he'll come out. As well as look around for hiding areas with a flashlight. His eyes will light up. If you trap put the clothing of his favorite person around and inside the trap. But do everything slowly. So as to not spook him.
