Please put your clothes out for the scent and get a baked chicken from Walmart and put out they can smell it aways away look outside late at night when it's all quiet alot of times their hiding under something scared and look under neighbors sheds and in their garages to

Please place his bedding outside, along with the owner's unwashed clothing front and back door with a can of tuna on each entrance, you can leave your garage door a bit open as well. In case it comes in that way. And leaving food there as well. Also vacuumed home dirt in a stocking hanging it in front and back of home enterence . Show your neighbors a picture of the cat. Ten houses to the left ten house to the right front and back if they spot him to give you a call immediately. Go early in the morning and shake treats calling the cats name when things are quiet.. Don't put litterbox outside it attracts other cats and animals. Hang outside unwashed pjs or towels on your deck of the cat's favourite person and change them daily as your scent blows off of them. Go outside after dark with a flash light and check under decks and sheds and cars and bushes etc. Praying My suggestion if still missing in a few days would be to put the cat's favourite person's unwashed tshirt or small unwashed towel they have used or their unwashed pillow case in the live trap and make sure it doesn't impede the trip completed previous requests or the door. Change the clothing daily as the scent blows off. Add a trail of temptation to the trap and Dollarama mackerel. Do not set up the trap if you aren't there or can't check it every 15 - 20 minutes.

Below are ideas to find your indoor or outdoor cat. If you haven't already... Indoor cats often stay close to home. Try shaking their favourite treat bag and use a flash light at night to see if you see any eyes flashing. Check under steps, sheds, the car and all around your property even trees. Don’t call their name unless they have been out for just a few moments as they are in ‘fear mode’ and this can make them hide more. Outdoor cats and Indoor cats… check sheds as he she could have gotten locked in. Check up trees. Then go door to door if you can and ask if anyone has seen him her. Put up posters and send out flyers. Leave porch door open or window if they escaped from a window. Post on a lost and found pet and cat sites in your area and province. As well as your local community Facebook page. Check and tell you have lost your cat to vets, shelters, rescues, Animal Control, 311 (if you are in Halifax, Nova Scotia) and then check Kijiji. Leave your scent out on the clothes line (unwashed clothing) or on the steps and change every day or at least after a rain. Don’t put their scent out as predators are likely to come… Don't leave kitty’s litter out as this will attract predators and kitty might be too scared to come back. If that doesn’t work… ask a local rescue or shelter to help you humane trap your cat. Put out out the trap with wet food, water and a tarp to cover it. In the colder months a blanket over the cage as well and tarp over that. Put a piece of owner’s scent in the cat like a sock which has not been washed. This attracts your cat and usually keeps other cats and animals away. Always check trap often as animals can get hypothermia in the cold and hyperthermia in the summer. Usually early morning and night is when they go on the trap but many also will be trapped in the middle of the day. Hope you find your cat soon!

If this is an indoor only cat that never goes out, look close. Indoor only cats when lost get scared and hide because it is unknown territory and usually do not come out when you call. Usually are within 3 or 4 houses . Put out something with your scent such as a piece of clothing or blanket. Call at dusk, dawn and night and shake the treats. Get in your neighbour's yards and look under decks, sheds, in trees, bushes or anywhere they can hide. Put up lots of posters. Sorry to hear your cat is missing. Your cat is nearby probably on your property scared and hiding. Put out worn clothing. Clothing has to be worn so that kitty can pick up on the scent. Also put out kitty’s cat bed or a blanket anything with the cat’s scent outside. Leave a window and a door slightly open so that kitty can find its way back inside the house. Be sure to secure other pets first. Go out at Dawn and Dusk approximately 2 am to 5 am especially with a flashlight. The light from the flashlight will reflect in the cat’s eyes. Check underneath bushes, trees, cars, decks, patio furniture and tarps. Anything your cat will use as shelter and a place to hide. Check sheds, garages etc. Kitty’s venture off not to far away from home. Search your property extensively. Most cats are found hiding on owners property. Be sure to search properties at a radius of 10 homes to the right, 10 to the left, 10 behind and 10 in front. Go door to door and let your neighbours know your cat is missing. Ask for their permission to search their properties. Look at every nook and cranny. Neighbours will not thoroughly search their properties or know where to look. It is best if you search the properties yourself. Shake a bag of your cat’s favourite treats or food calling kitty’s name calmly. Important thing is to remain calm. If you find your cat, make no sudden movements. Your cat is scared and in survival mode. Approach your cat slowly and calmly. Extend your hand out so that your cat can smell your hand. You need to gain your cats trust again. Give your cat treats. When you think you can grab your cat confidently do so and hang on tightly to it. Remember your cat is scared and in survival mode and will be scared of you as well. Remain calm. Be sure to create flyers with as much information possible and hand out to your neighbours as well as post flyers in the neighbourhood and the surrounding areas. Remember 10 to the left 10 to the right, 10 to the front and 10 to the back. If you can offer a reward it will encourage others to look for your kitty. Do don’t leave the litter box outside it will attract stray cats, raccoons etc. It will scare your cat away. If your cat is microchipped call the company and report the cat missing. Make sure your contact information is up to date. Report your cat missing to your local SPCA or Human Society. Bring flyers as well to post. Go in person to your local SPCA /Humane Society every couple of days and check out what cats that were recently brought in. Contact rescue groups or agencies and report your cat is missing. Bring them flyers. Go in person and check what cats have been brought it. Report your cat missing on local Facebook animals group and neighborhood watch Facebook pages. Check Kijiji as well. Follow these tips. Don’t waste any time waiting for your cat to come home. Start your search immediately. Just keep going out looking for your cat everyday . Recheck your property, your neighbours and surrounding areas as mentioned as many times as necessary. Check in with the SPCA/Humane Society and rescue groups every couple of days. Don’t give up. It can take days, weeks or months to find your cat. Good luck finding for your cat.
