Description

Orange tabby with white from under his chin down his entire stomach, white front paws, back paws are white, but it’s mostly his entire back legs that are white. May possibly still have his light brown and red flannel style, collar on. And he has a black tuxedo name tag if it hasn’t come off. I just changed my number of 20 years 2 days before he went missing, indoor only, was getting chunky with a small stomach hanging, old number which is on the collar my current number is. Barely 2 years old. Most likely terrified out there.

Please, please help me bring my family back together, (and calm my severe lupus flare down) which only consists of my fur babies. My human daughters both left me to die at the beginning of the year as I am extremely sick with 20+ diagnosis in just 3 years. Ginger Boy was like my Service animal as he’s the one that is my shadow and follows me everywhere. I just cry everyday. I foster failed his sister who is 4 months older than him and if he wasn’t with me they were playing. She is super depressed and has been and my shadow now, scared to leave my side. My dog of 13 years is dying and Ginger Boy would always lay hear her and rub on her and give her kisses. He is the joy and noise in my hse. It’s been so dead quiet with his young toddler self not running around causing a ruckus. It’s bad enough my dog of 13 years will be leaving me soon, I didn’t know how I would make it through it. It I knew Ginger Boy would carry me through and lick my tears and lay right on me. And now I’m always having to grieve a loss and it’s making my Lupus flare so bad. Because I can’t live without him. He is the only Boy here and tries to be Alfa and if I call another pet he runs to me first. Please please help me find my baby boy, tomorrow makes 3 weeks. Tell you have seen him. He is so scared he probably hides all day and comes out only at night. I would give anything to get him back. That is my son I never had and now he’s gone and I can’t stop crying. Your pets are like your kids, and mine abandoned left me to die. But I made through because of Ginger Boy who was left on my patio at my old apmts 10 ounces not even a pound, wrapped in a blanket and I nursed him back and I was and am his mom. We need each other. Please somebody say they know where he is?

The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. They have to use their sense of smell to get home again. Put anything outside that smells like their territory. Put the pajamas you slept in outside because you probably sweated in them. Put out their food your stinky socks your smelly sneakers anything you can think of that the cat will recognize by smell. Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week or so sleeping in the bushes during the day and coming out at dusk and dawn. Those are good times to take a walk shaking the treat bag calling out but cats also tend to come out and walk around very late at night. Try to keep a door cracked if you can whether it's the garage or whatever or a window cracked so you can hear them if they call out for you. Put this on all of the neighborhood pages as well as lost and found pets sites. Knock on the neighbors doors and make sure they know you're looking for your cat. Good luck PS cats can smell up to one mile away from their own house. Absolutely no litterbox outside or food. It attracts predators is why. Never give up.

Dianne Banton thank you soo much for all that info! I have heard most of it but to see people take the time to post all that means soo much! I did unfortunately see him go out the front door when I was trying to get my big dying dog out. He has done it before but only stayed right in my breezeway by my apartment door. Once I got my dog out he was gone chasing my cat of 10 years who got out also but was an indoor outdoor cat at my last place for most her life. I dropped the dog leash but my building has soo many ways to get out the front and back that I guess I chose the wrong path. I’m just shocked because he is terrified of the outdoors as I would put him in a stroller or on a car harness. He liked the outdoors but never thought he would run he usually lays down and doesn’t move. I have lived here almost 2 years. I moved here when he was not even a year yet. And they sit in those window perches. A mean lady was helping a first put traps and cameras in the small wooded area right next to my building. So there have been sightings. I talk to my animals like babies so when I go out every night calling him it’s very soft. Need to start doing the mornings. There is another orange tabby that just got a flea collar as someone in the neighborhood right next to my building called me off a possible sighting. She leaves food and water out because she said he’s mainly 90% outdoors. I told her he comes in the woods by my house because before she put the flea collar on I knew it was Ginger plus he’s heavier than hers. I do have nights I stay up being I live in an apartment with my door propped open big enough for him to slide in. I’ve tied socks up and down the stairs got in trouble. My neighbor helping me got In trouble when they saw her trap and camera in woods. And property manager after the socks tore my signs down out here but they are still in the mail room. The neighborhood right next to my building and the woods there’s a fence. It’s a HOA and people said they would take the signs down but they are still up as I think he hides over there many hiding spots. But like you said he’s terrified to come out during the day. I’m going now to put a 360 camera up in the woods but only food will bring them there. There is a stray that goes from the apartments to the houses and I seem my car like following him. I guess he’s training him on the wild outdoors. But when he was in the woods it’s so close but I think with the many ways in and out and a hallway in each floor to go to the other side of my building is confusing him off he tried to come home. I know it’s already dark now. I was going to put my camera on a tree near the side of the building and see if I catch him coming out and what way he goes. Do you have recommendations on this?

Talk softly when calling late night and during the night to early morning when it quite out .. Might wait in between to see if you hear them meow nearby .... For indoor cats if there is any way you could leave your door garage door or window slightly ajar if possible they know where they got out and will often come back in on their own .. If you didn't see them get out check deep dresser drawers, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, under beds in box springs, behind the frig, the stove, behind or under the sofa, under or in the recliner the washer/dryer or inside if left open .. basement crawl space .. attic .. anywhere small or behind a cat can hide they will! If out cats will hide during the day and are more active late evening near dark to early morning , daybreak ... have a spot light to shine to see eyes in the dark .. they are usually close by and will often come back to the door .. or hide under bushes or decks to feel safe ! Also check crawl spaces under houses , garages, sheds of neighbors nearby ...No food out after dark it will attract area strays and wildlife to the area ... check culvert pipes .. storm drains .. up trees .. and colder weather they will get under car hoods for warmth and on tires also ...this can happen and they could be miles from home . Cats in a new home need at least 30 days to adjust to a new area and may and will travel to get back to their old home .. In some cases a set trap may be needed and monitored! A Trail cam or night vision goggles can help to monitor the areas outside! Post to Nextdoor Ask neighbors to check their Ring Doorbells... Beware of loose and roaming dogs in the area as they will chase and your cats! For automatic garage doors please place a 6x6 block or cinder block so that the door will not come all the way down and trap your pet as they can be injured! Check with area Shelters, Animal Control, and Vets offices also put flyers ... Am sure you have tried most all of these! Don't give up!!
