Hi there, we found a young male cat who looks similar to Cascabel last night near 7th and Porter (down by Oregon in South Philadelphia). He is not neutered and appears to be 4-6 months old. Not sure if this is him or not but I’m attaching more photos here...

So sorry your kitty has gone missing. Kitty is likely hiding close by (especially if an indoor-only cat). Leave food and water nearby. Also place a protected large container shelter with unwashed towel/blanket inside. A little used litter could also betered nearby. SEARCH OFTEN AND THOROUGHLY---under parked cars, down alleyways, in neighbors' yards, under shrubs/piles of debris, up trees, under porches, near dumpsters. Check for open bat doors and broken windows in homes/bldgs (garages, sheds, etc.). Take a flashlight, carrier, and treats/favorite food with you, and call kitty's name while you search on foot. Call out to kitty and listen carefully. Find out if anyone around/near your block feeds strays. Post flyers *door-to-door* on & around your block, along streets, with local businesses and area vets. Ask neighbors to check their properties and to text you immediately if they see kitty. File a report with Phila ACCT shelter (http://www.acctphilly.org/lostpet/lostreport/) and post on their fb page LostAndFoundPhilly (https://www.facebook.com/LostAndFoundPhilly). Contact your microchip company to report and update your contact info. Also post on these sites: www.facebook.com/pages/Lost-And-Found-Pets-South-Philly-area/474051846072348, NextDoor.com and Craigslist (lost&found) and any social media sites in your particular neighborhood (or a block email group). Check the following stray cat facebook sites for 'found' cats in the area: PhlCommunityCats, StrayCatReliefFund, TheCatCollaborative. Also email your flyer to area vets, including Philly PAWS (gfclinic@phillypaws.org) and Morris Animal Refuge (215 735 9570). Consider borrowing a humane trap from one of the organizations above (or a vet) and setting it up nearby. Again, SEARCH for kitty as often as possible throughout the day! Keep us posted.

Pet Parents- As you look for your pet, Please Beware of Scammers! Please read below carefully and entirely for tips to avoid scams. There are already scam posts on here by people who post spam every time. They prey on pet parents missing their furry friends. ***PLEASE NOTE: Some agencies are legitimate. Example, FIND TOBY in PA are LEGITIMATE search is a rescue that can and should be contacted for help.*** Do Not contact any “lost pet rescue” groups scammers specifically mention are on INSTAGRAM or MESSENGER. This is a known scam. They are scams to take your money they say is for “software”, compromise your account, and spread spam. They will not even look for your pet. They will take your money and then block you. Some scammers also direct you to send a message to an email/Gmail address to a “rescue” group. This is the same scam, so beware. Also don’t correspond with anyone who claims they found your pet and wants you to contact them and send them your cell number to get codes to “prove you are real”. This is also a scam tactic called the Google Voice Scam to take control of your account and your phone. Ask for a picture if they claim to have your pet. If anyone calls you, please be very cautious as to the legitimacy of the caller. Other pet parents have been known to receive scam calls at all hours of the night with the caller claiming they have their pet when it is a scam. Have the caller send you a picture as proof. Additionally, the post from ”WELCH W” is a SCAM and is being reported as is the Instagram group they mention. These scammers comment on EVERY post that they found your pet or want you to message a fake search team on Instagram. Do not contact anyone as they say to and do not send them your cell number. This goes for anyone who refers you to an Instagram “search” group or Gmail contact as there will be more posting. They use different names. Really hoping Cascabel comes home soon!

Don't give up❤,it took me one year to find my German Shepherd Parker, after i checked all animal shelter, also posted flyers and contacted different pet rescue team but did not still find him until a friend of mine has to recommend me to this private security search company "animal_search_service_ltd" on Instagram before they helped me find my German Shepherd Parker, i was so happy and excited to reunite with my dog after one year. I recommend you to them they will surely help you find your missing pet, i have also shared your flyer.
