Put out her/his bedding (because your cat's scent already on it). If you have other pets, secure them then keep a door a bit open. She/He might be hiding close by, so she/he would be able to come back. Keep calling her/his name, check the neighbors garages, in case she/he went in but couldn't get out. File a lost pet with OHS (Or local SPCA), it can be done online. Also check OHS (or local SPCA) for found cats to see if someone found your cat and brought him there. When you post her/his picture, her/his description, time and date and location in your neighborhood share the same information with the local veterinarian clinics in case someone finds her/him and brings her/him for microchip scanning. Check in a pet microchip database (if your cat microchipped)your cat's microchip number to ensure your information is up-to-dated. If not, update it along with her/his current situation.

Kim Rombough Agreed. My 2 indoor cats never have to worry about getting hit by a car, eaten by a coyote, poisoned etc….

@Jenni Bennett-Gilmour - Have you filed a lost report with the OHS (can do on-line). Contact the chip company to list as missing and to ensure your contact info is up to date. Put her carrier outside along with something with your scent on it. Cats don't generally travel far and are usually found hiding 7-10 houses away - take a flyer with note door-to-door asking neighbours to check their sheds/garages/under decks and door cams. Posters up for blocks in every direction as many people are not on social media. Use a flashlight to check under porches/decks/covered BBQs/bushes and up in trees her eyes will reflect in the light. Leave your door open slightly (secure any other pets in a room) as she may walk herself home/in. When searching/calling, only call when walking homeward so she doesn't follow you further away; when at home call every 10-15 minutes.

Give all details of your cat to the local postal sorting office and also to your own postman/postwoman. Posties are great as they go everywhere and see all. Good luck 🐈
