So glad he was found! For future reference this may help with lost dogs: My cousin's husband hunting dog (bird iirc) ran off one night. He got the advice from an "old tymer" to urinate on several cloth items and lay them off the ground around his home and where the dog frequented. My cousin got some old cotton shirts out, laid them on the driveway and peed on them. He then drapped one across the hedge bushes near his front porch and other places his dog would lay. That night he went to bed upset and skeptical but hopeful about the tactics. About 3am he was awakened by pawing and whimpering at his front door. He jumped out of bed, ran to the front door and there was his beloved pup. Wet, hungry, and tired. He was gone for about six or seven days but came home within hours of the scented items being placed. That morning my cousin took the dog to the nearby vet where he was checked out, treated, and overall ok. The vet said that peeing on the items was very smart given how good a dog's sense of smell is. Anyway, glad your baby made it home!
