Shared. Please put your cat’s carrier/empty box outside with some of your worn clothing inside also something with your cats sent.Your kitty will be able to smell their way back home. Put a trail of cat nip outside from where cat got out. Leave your garage and lanai doors open enough for your cat to get back inside. Kindly ask your neighbors to check their garages, sheds or any other outdoor hiding place to ensure your cat isn’t trapped. Also check under bushes and cars, up in trees, in and under sheds and in and around ditches and drainage pipes. If cat eats dry food put some in dish cover and walk around outside shaking the dish or cats treats can be used or hold a open can of wet food or open can of tuna.

Walk around calling your cat as you always do. Look under bushes and in hiding places. Look at dawn and dusk with a flashlight to catch the glare of your cat's eyes. If possible leave your garage and lanai door partially open. Your cat will try to get back inside, especially during time when it is dark outside. The only way to find the way home again is by smell. Use some of your used clothes, put them outside. A friend of mine used her shirt and dragged it through the neighborhood. Her cat found the smell and followed it home. It is all about the smell. You can also cut a shirt of yours into small small pieces and leave a scent trail back to your house. I read a few days ago that a lady put out a trace with the old litter throughout the neighborhood. It worked. Her cat came home! Also try to distribute flyers throughout your neighborhood...as many as you can ( 3 miles radius at least). Check shelters in person...don't just call. Put battery operated trail cameras outside. Your cat might show up in the middle of the night. When you know the time you can wait for for your cat and slow blink to make contact. NEVER GIVE UP! I read once that you can put a chair outside and cover it up with a blanket and the cat can jump up and hide under the blanket and feels safe. They said you should put one of your shirts under the blanket and food and water next to the chair. It might be worth a try.

Hope your Fur baby is home soon 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Post on Nextdoor and Ring Apps If he is chipped call the company and update your information. If he is an indoor cat then he is probably scared and hiding nearby and will be more likely to come out when it is quiet and dark. Put out a crate with his bedding, also your dirty clothes, sneakers, socks etc to help him smell his way home. Cats are scent driven. Leave near an entry points, partially open screen door or garage. Go out later in the night or early morning call out by name in normal voice shake a bag treats and listen for any movement or sounds from your kitty Keep a close daily check on the Broward County Animal Services website, under "Lost and Found Pets" in case someone picks him up and turns him in.
