Judah Bean Thank you so much for asking, Judah. We believe he was spotted looking very stressed in Chapel Hill on April 15th. A kind soul posted that FB link here, and I saw it within an hour or so of her sharing it. I drove to the spot straight away, but no luck. I tried again Friday afternoon, walking around the area making recognizable sounds, and playing them, too (calling to him, etc.). Meanwhile, the kind OP who shared his photo is monitoring the open cage I left for him, and refreshing his favorite treats. I met some neighbors while walking around the neighborhood on Friday, and so there are more kind folks keeping their eyes open, with the knowledge that he'll probably perch if they ask him to. Thank you for your care, Judah. I know that as each day passes the chances of him rejoining our family wane, but I am grateful to all the kind folks who have been stepping up and offering support, like yourself.

Courtney Hubay check the other comments. There are screenshots of other people finding parakeets recently. Apparently not too impossible.

Nina, thank you so much for this! I think this could be our little one! The OP and I are in communication. I drove to this spot last night with his favorite things to eat, but no luck finding him just yet. She is watching out for him, and I left the favorite things and a travel cage in place should he return. He looks stressed in the new picture, very fluffy. And the fact that he was hanging out at ground level suggests he's very hungry. Hoping he's still in the area. Reaching out to rescues nearby there today...
