Long Beach, I need your help finding this boy’s people. I first found him running near 7th & Alamitos. I lost sight of him for a while, searched around, and eventually found him again near Anaheim & Pacific. He was running loose by himself wearing a harness, prong collar, and leash. Multiple people told me they saw him get pushed out of a car in the middle of 7th Street and chase after the car as it drove away. I honestly have a hard time believing someone who truly loved and cared for this dog would do that, especially considering how sweet and well cared for he seems. Maybe there’s more to the story, maybe someone was being vindictive, maybe something else happened entirely — I don’t know. I can only say that several witnesses told me the same thing. What I do know is this dog is unbelievably sweet and clearly not feral or aggressive. His harness alone looks expensive, and while he’s a little skinny, he doesn’t seem neglected overall. He’s extremely smart, very timid, and definitely potty trained. I’d guess he’s around 2–3 years old. His paws are a little torn up from running, and full transparency, he did jump out of my truck window the night I found him and hurt his leg a bit. It doesn’t seem serious, but I want to be upfront about it. I originally thought he might be a Great Dane/Pit mix, but the vet thinks he’s probably just a pit. Either way, he is genuinely one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. He does have identifying name patches/tags on his harness that I am intentionally not showing publicly so I can properly verify ownership. If he belongs to you or someone you know, you should be able to identify those details. I cannot keep him because of my living situation, but I am absolutely determined to either find his home or find him a safe one. The last thing I want is for this boy to end up in a shelter situation where he could be put down. If you recognize him, know his owners, or think you may have information, please reach out immediately. Even just sharing this post helps. Help me out, Long Beach.

She posted on next door a few days ago to rehome him for free. He's only 11 mos old.

There have been many instances of people taking others dogs and then dumping elsewhere. Glad you registered as found. You can really question anyone claiming, to find out what happened. No chip? Registering on petcolovelost.org is good to share on. Thanks for being so kind and diligent and getting to safety.

The dog could’ve been stolen and then the person just got rid of him. There could be many reasons for that story. Thank you for helping him.

If you find a dog PLEASE...... Keep it secure indoors and contact the shelter as soon as possible, to let them know you have the dog… That is the ONE place EVERY owner that cares looks, while many are not on social media or assume the worst. Also any Vet will check the dog for a chip for free.
