Message from Owner

A month I ago I bumped into this Asian girl who was looking for her husky puppy across Proper Foods at 535 Mission Street (the financial district). Today I saw a guy walking a husky that doesn’t seem to belong to him as the dog wouldn’t listen to him, and he would just lie down outside the same Proper Foods where I saw the Asian girl, and he refused to leave. I asked how the guy got the dog he said he rescued him not long ago and would not respond to my follow up questions. If the Asian girl happens to see this post, hopefully it helps. I’m not sure if the husky is your lost pet but I think it doesn’t hurt to try, it’s devastating to lost a dog.

Julia Velson homeless steal dogs. Shelters won't place the unless there is a home and charge for it. That is a young husky, I really don't know if it's THE stolen dog, but the guy has to live in a place with a yard to have it. They arent satisfied with an apartment. They have high exercise needs. There is a homeless group that hangs out in my general neghiborhood, they have dogs, over time the dogs are different. You can explain that however, but I am sure the steal them and either sell or lose them.

Terry Koenig complete BS. The shelters are full of huskies. Plenty of homeless folks had dogs before they became homeless And you have no idea if this is a "purebred" husky.

I’d talk to the manager if Proper Foods. It’s very possible the girl who lost a dog spoke to them asking for camera footage or info

Okay y’all I get it. Black guys can’t have huskies rightfully and there is only one husky in SF. And the woman who didn’t even see the husky must know this is likely the right one. And the ‘Asian woman’ of course hasn’t found her puppy by now. And it’s easy to tell someone is homeless by looking at their back and all homeless people steal animals all the time and it’s guilty until proven innocent and purebread dogs are more important than being careful not to encourage racist actions toward Black men we know nothing about. And even with a masters degree in social work I don’t know anything about what happens to people who are unhoused who are vilanized with basically no concrete information. I didn’t even report the post - I just asked people to give people the benefit of the doubt. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Colleen McCarthy and as someone who works with animals and humans, I've found many who were stolen by homeless.
