Eric Juarez Day-One Response The first 48 (Upstream Assistance) This is the early intervention phase—from the moment a pet goes missing up to 48 hours. This phase focuses on fast action and prevention: Getting the owner immediate, correct suggestions for their pet and for their area. Heavy coverage of the 1-mile search radius immediately Considering the breed and the neighborhood and which tactics work best based on that. Looking at what are the biggest risk factors for this pet right now and in the next 2 hours? Coyotes, cars, heat, being stolen etc. Using the fastest most successful methods to reach that one mile search radius immediately. It's usually next door and neighbors by ring apps because they reach the people in the one-mile search radius and you can reach 50 people within a few minutes with one post.💪 The purpose of upstream assistance is to recover the pet BEFORE the situation expands or becomes harder to trace. When this phase is done effectively, many cases are resolved before they ever become long-term missing pets. If the pet is not found- the owners move into phase 2 tactics which are much more time consuming... And often less effective. Long-Term Recovery (Downstream Assistance) This is the extended search phase—when a pet has been missing 3 to 4 days or more and has likely moved out of the 1 mi search radius or entered systems like shelters or rescues. This phase focuses on investigation. Daily shelter searches in person Going through Lost Pet websites to see if the pet has been posted Trying to identify matches on five or six Lost Pet websites and 10 to 15 Lost Pet groups on Facebook 👎 It's very tedious. Having to also search if the pet was taken in by a foster or a rescue. Piecing together information after time has passed. This becomes necessary when the early response window was missed or the pet was not recovered quickly.

Eric Juarez You gotta go hard on day one and two for quick return! Next door, neighbors by ring not the ring app. Reward/Location are the first things in your post THEN description of your dog breed color size boy or girl friendly or skittish contact phone number. Super super key for quick results- comment on your post every 20 to 30 minutes the first day. You've got to radically shake the tree to get the word out that you're looking for your dog on day one and two. Very important. If you don't it becomes a nightmare that goes on for days and weeks.😭

Eric Juarez 🐾 Here are a few things to try if you've found a lost pet in Arizona. The NEIGHBORS by Ring app is amazing! 🎉 It has an impressive success rate, helping reunite about 70% of lost pets with their owners—often within hours. Ring and NEIGHBORS by Ring are two different apps, and you do NOT need a Ring device to use NEIGHBORS. It only takes about 5 minutes to download the app and create a post, making it one of the fastest and most effective ways to help reunite a lost pet with its family.🎉 To quickly reach many people within a three mile radius: ▪️ Post the found pet on NEIGHBORS by Ring. ▪️ Also post on Nextdoor ▪️ Make simple flyers using a piece of paper and a Sharpie. Packing tape works great for hanging them up. ▪️ Place 4–8 flyers at the major intersections closest to where the pet was found. ▪️ Put a box in your front yard and write FOUND DOG or FOUND CAT in big letters so if the owners are driving the neighborhood, hopefully they will see it.🥰 ▪️ Your flyers don't have to be fancy. Just write: FOUND DOG/CAT BREED SIZE COLOR YOUR PHONE NUMBER THAT'S IT! ▪️ Take the pet to any veterinary clinic and have them scanned for a microchip. It's free. ▪️ Don't assume the pet was abandoned. Lex Harrison my guess is, (and dog is now home), that the owner couldn't reach the finder on the found PB, and had then used the found photo, to post as missing. That dog is now home. Their other is still missing, as far as I am aware.

Update! Sorry for the late late update but we have oliver now! I have been having trouble trying to respond to people on pawboost but we do have oliver (right) and just missing axel (left) still thank you too leslie for finding oliver 🙏

Esme David I'm super confused. How is the owner posting the dog is lost and someone else is posting they found the dog but they're using the same picture?

Esme David I don't know Esme the dogs have been missing since July 3rd and they just now got them posted. Doesn't seem like they're trying very hard to find them. 🤨
