I have some tips for you to try. I've been rescuing cats for about 30 years and this is the post I share with lost cat parents: Indoor-only cats behave differently when they find themselves outside. They typically hunker down in a good hiding spot within 1-2 houses of home and only come out late at night when it's very quiet. They often don't even respond when they hear their family calling though it is still very much worth going out to call and look during the day and also in the wee hours (11 pm-3 am or so.) It is also worth looking everywhere in your yard, under bushes, decks, porches, crawl spaces, and in garages and sheds to see if you can spot your cat. Outdoor cats (or indoor-outdoor cats) who are familiar with the area and comfortable being outdoors usually don’t return because they are unable. This can be due to injury, a well-intentioned person picked them up and don’t know where to return them, or they are stuck someplace (the most likely issue). The best thing to do, besides posting online (#2 below) is to make flyers and post them everywhere you can so that you have as many people as possible aware that your cat is missing and can call you if spotted. I hope the following tips help: 1. Place worn linens (t-shirts, blankets, towels) all around your house on all four sides. Please DO NOT put out used litter (everyone suggests this) because it will potentially attract other cats who might run off or frighten your cat, or predators who are drawn to a "new cat in the neighborhood" smell. No one will be attracted to the scent of your family and home but your cat. If needed, replace these items every couple of days to keep the scent fresh. 2. Post online. Do a search on "lost/found pets in Dallas" to pull up sites dedicated to helping spread the word about your lost pet. You can post on NextDoor, PawBoost, PetKey, Ring, and neighborhood Facebook groups. 3. Make flyers. They should be simple, easy-to-read, and have a large color photo of your cat with your contact information. Putting them on neon posterboard as a backing will help them stand out. You can buy precut neon posterboard at CVS and Walgreens or order it from Amazon. These are VERY helpful because you will have more people aware and looking for your cat who can alert you right away. (a) Put them at intersections where people stop to read them as well as all around your block. (b) Hand these directly to all of your neighbors (including the street behind you) and talk with them, asking them to be on the lookout. Ask them to look in their yards, garages, sheds, under porches, under houses, and in the bushes, or to let you look. 4. Make a large posterboard sign for your front yard so that everyone who drives/walks by it sees it. 5. If you have a screened-in porch/patio, you can leave the door cracked for your cat to come in. Same for the garage. If you don't have other pets, you can do the same with the back door (or put them in another room for the night) to allow your cat access to sneak back in. 6. You can purchase very inexpensive cameras from Amazon. I use the Mini Blink cameras. I have one you can borrow with wifi, night vision, infrared, phone alerts. These are great because they allow you to see if your cat has come to your yard, open door, trap, bowl of food, wherever you set it. 7. I have humane live-catch traps that you can borrow. Leave some of your laundry outside your home to help him find his way home by scent. Also leave a door, lower window, garage door cracked open enough for him to find a way back into the home. They normally try to get back inside the same way they got out. If he is scared, he may be moving at night when it is quieter and looking for a way back inside. Hope this helps 🙏

So sorry!!!! Tips to try: Check under porches, decks, bushes, cars. Check window wells & storm drains. At night use a flashlight-eyes will reflect the light. They typically don't go far, search same areas multiple times. Put out a familiar scented clothing or blanket of theirs & yours🤍Scent can help them find home Alert your neighbors, vet clinics, shelters & mail person. Put up fliers & post on Nextdoor app too! Check shelter daily🩶
