For Oreo’s people: You have likely done this already but if not, please post flyers in the area where Oreo went missing (and/or last sighted), and knock on doors. Not everyone is on social media. You might also ask folks to check their security monitors... Might capture something useful in the footage. Also remember to check the Pawboost FOUND and SIGHTINGS listings, and with local animal shelters. And phone to ask their current protocols. I have heard that visiting in person to review their intake logs is the best way to get accurate information. Also consider posting on NextDoor. I hope to read a positive update on Oreo soon.

Immediately place lots if unwashed items of clothing with strong familiar scent outside your front door area and hanging from a tree to attract pup back home dogs can follow the scents from far away. He seems very small perhaps is hiding nearby. Try to go out shaking his favorite bag of treats, calling him softly so he won't be scared. Ask neighbors to check security cameras footage perhaps something useful was caught on video. Post on Nexdoor, and Ring. Report to shelter as lost and check in person. If chipped call chip company. Hang flyers all over. Check with homeless people some like to keep stray dogs, others may help you find offering a reward. Hope pup is found safe.

Post to Nextdoor Check shelter website 24petconnect .com City of San Jose Animal Care & Services Help your pet smell their way home ~ take an unwashed article of the OWNER’S clothing (socks, sheet, underwear) and hang it in a tree, on a fence, a pole or edge of roof and put an article of unwashed clothing on the ground below. The wind will carry the scent. If there is another dog in the home take that dog's fresh poop and rub it on a rag and hang it high. Open your gates and/or the garage door, and turn on all the lights. Put a rug or towel on the porch with a bowl of water. Do not put the dog's bed or the dog's toys outside. The only scent we want is from the owners. Please do this ASAP. A dog can find its way back from miles by following a scent as they don't operate like humans on sight or sound. Put up flyers with large photo of your dog with legible phone number.
