Message from Owner

We recently moved and afraid he doesn't know how to get back . Really worried since he's an older cat that usually wants to lounge throughout the day.

I’m so sorry your fur baby is missing. I’m posting a few tips to to help you find him and I realize that perhaps you’ve already tried some of them. (But hopefully there’s still a point or two you’ll find helpful.) Please put his bed/blanket or an unwashed article of your clothing outside, the scent will help him find his way home. Experienced rescues advise not to use soiled cat litter as it can attract predators and aggressive cats.) If he’s an indoor only kitty, he’s probably close but hiding. Check under the house, porches, and in sheds and garages, anywhere he may be trapped. Ask the neighbors to do the same. Ask them, too, to check their Ring cameras. If he’s not home by tonight, search under bushes and shrubs with a flashlight, his eyes will reflect the light and you'll be able to see him. Best time to search is late night and early morning when it’s most quiet outside. Call his name softly and gently shake a treat bag. If it’s safe, keep an entrance to your home such as a garage cracked open in case kitty returns during the night, Post on Pawboost and Nextdoor, excellent additional resources that can assist you. Put up fliers throughout the neighborhood and report him as missing to local vets. Finally, be sure to file a lost kitty report with your county shelter. Send a photo if possible. Many people don’t use social media, so the shelters are often the first place they turn to. Last but not least, beware of lost pet scams. They appear to be on the increase these days. All my best wishes for a speedy reunion.

Make flyers and put them on every door in the neighborhood. I got my cat back that way
