Sometimes kitties will get trapped in a neighbor’s shed or crawl space, and the neighbor has no idea they’re there. You have to ask the neighbor to CHECK those areas, not just whether they’ve seen kitty, because they probably haven’t. If kitty is scared and hiding, the neighbor would have no way of knowing the cat is trapped. Also check in your own crawl space or shed if it’s possible he got in there without your knowledge, especially if you were in an area recently that isn’t normally open, such as an attic to put away decorations, or a parked vehicle you don’t drive frequently, etc. Also consider holes he could jump down into but not back out of, like a storm drain.
