Me and my wife’s cat has been gone since May 29th and we have yet to find him or hear from him around the area, we leave his bowl with food and change it every night hoping he’ll make his way back but haven’t heard a thing, we’re worried about him and just want him home…

Food can attract them, but another reason the kitty litter isn't recommended is it can make feral toms territorial and put kitties in danger as well. It's also a myth with no scientific evidence that the litter smell draws cats back in. People can do as they please, just want to share the information.
