Please help me find my baby! His tail is orange and very fluffy. He has a scar under the fur on the back left side of his neck. He is very friendly and trusting. He is up to date on all of his shots and flea/tick .

David Aaron Keesee I've had pets go missing before, it's very distressing. I hope he comes back soon, safe and sound 🥹

David Aaron Keesee Male cats can reach s3xual maturity by 6 months of age (females can go into heat as young as 3.5 months of age 🙀). Ideally, cats should be fixed by 5 months of age. Having said that, if he was an indoor/outdoor cat and not fixed, he may be out looking for a girlfriend. That's dangerous, as he can encounter cars, dogs, hawks, owls, coyotes, mean people, and other unneutered tomcats who will fight him (even unalive him) for a female in heat. 😞 He could also pick up FIV or FELV. Unneutered tomcats will travel up to 5 miles for a girlfriend. If you haven't already, put up flyers everywhere as many people aren't on social media. SInce he's not microchipped, give flyers to every vet clinic, rescue, and shelter in the area in case he turns up. Since he's not neutered, ask them all about any local TNR groups and community cat feeders, and give them flyers too, in case he turns up at a colony somewhere. (A picture in their hands will help keep him at the forefront of their minds.) Ask your neighbors to check their cameras, garages, sheds, and crawlspaces. Ask all of them if they had any visitors or contractors doing work on their houses around the time he went missing. If so, call the visitors and the businesses and ask them if they had an accidental stowaway. Walk the entire neighborhood (as far as you can) in the wee hours with a flashlight and look for glowing eyes. Look up in trees in case he was chased. Call him in a regular voice (not panicked) and gently shake a treat bag if he likes that kind of stuff. If he's injured or scared, he's probably hunkered down and hiding. He may not answer you when you call, but that's just instinctual as a vocal cat gives away their location to predators, and an injured cat is prey. Put his beds/ blankets and some of your dirty clothes on your porches and around the perimeter of your yard. When he comes home, keep him inside until you can get him neutered and microchipped. Be sure to register the chip online. If he must go back outside, consider building or buying a catio (some people have bought pre-made chicken coops and "attached" them to their houses with kitty access through a window); or, if you have a fenced-in yard, consider putting up cat-fencing or coyote rollers on top of the fence to keep them safely in the yard. Good luck ❤

Suzy: he is an indoor outdoor cat. Has not been microchipped or neutered yet: the owner's spouse recently rescued Cosmo from the dump in Augusta.

Is he neutered? Microchipped? Indoor only, or indoor/outdoor?
