Message from Owner

Our beloved 17 year old lady cat is missing. She usually sleeps in the garden or on a table outside, and insists on being pet on her favorite white stepping stone. She’s a loud meower and lets her presence known when it’s time to eat or be pet. She appears to have wandered off after a potential skirmish in the yard during the night and has not returned. She’s surely in need of help as she has not traveled far from the hse all these years. Please help!

Dolores Quinones exactly, and particularly an older cat, who doesn’t have the stamina to outrun a dog or a coyote. Never leave cats outside unattended, NEVER!!

A older cat should never be alone outside unattended and unleashed, that’s exactly how cats get into trouble. A coyote can easily jump the fence and attack your poor cat, and she would not be able to outrun him. My general advice: Searching for her is the fastest way to get her back: 🐾 Sad seeing so many kitties go missing just this week. Poor baby, she must be so scared and hungry out on her own. 🐈 When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. You must be proactive and look for them. 🔍Look under cars, bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call her name at dusk when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat. Posting is important, but please search for her, too. They don’t go far 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud equipment. The challenge is to find her before she gets any further away. 📣Please hang flyers near the area where she went missing, it’ll get the immediate attention from pedestrians, drivers and your neighbors will know you’re looking for her. 🐈‍⬛ YOU’RE the one that can bring her home safely, she will recognize your voice and your scent. Post on ND, check SDHS Lost & Found daily. If you’re able to find her, PLEASE, please don’t let her out unattended. Cats have the intelligence of a 3yo, they don’t know the dangers, they face outdoors with coyotes, dogs, cars, and worst of all evil people who taunt or injure cats. It only takes an hour to train a cat on a leash, then he can be outdoors safely with you. Good luck finding this gorgeous girl 🐾💜🐾

Please do not allow your cats or small dogs to go outdoors on their own. It's very dangerous for them, they are like toddlers and don't know how dangerous it's out there. On March 13, 2026 one of my female cats of 8 years was hit by a vehicle and ed. On April 13, 2026 a coyote ed her brother and took him. They are gone forever and my heart is broken. We live in a van because we are homeless since 2021 and they finally wanted to go outside and they were happy but bad things happened when they went outside. If you all have small dogs the coyotes will take them in front of you. They took a homeless woman's tiny Chihuahua a night after they took my cat. Even if they have trackers the coyotes don't care. Not being wicked for telling the truth. Just want everyone to be aware and know that once they are out there it's a dangerous world outside.
