Post on Lost and Found Pets Altadena-Pasadena- South Pasadena, CA and NextDoor. Let Pasadena Humane know. Tips for Lost Dogs Leave some articles of your unwashed clothing (socks, shoes, t-shirt, pillowcases, etc.) and his/her bed outside for him/her to smell home. Change the clothing out daily to keep the scent fresh - hang some items so that a breeze can carry the scent. Leave a gate open for him/her. If you see him while out driving - you can try opening a car door for him to jump in on his own. Also, he may be too spooked to come to you - have some pieces of hot dogs and/or rotisserie chicken to help lure him over to you - sit quietly on the ground and don’t face him/look away and toss them near him and lure him closer to you and have a slip lead ready. If microchipped, notify the chip company that he/she is missing; update/confirm your contact info. Post on NextDoor, Ring and local Lost & Found Pets groups for your area. Ask neighbors to check their cameras. Please contact either of these legit pet rescue/recovery specialists: -Mike Noon of CatchingPaws -Babs Fry of A Way Home For Dogs Both will give you instructions on how to get him/her home. Post signs - a minimum of 50 in at least a 2-mile radius. Put “Do Not Chase” on them and ask for sightings, but beware of scammers claiming to have your dog. Visit surrounding shelters (Pasadena Humane) in person daily - leave flyers there. Leave flyers at surrounding vet offices/ER vets where someone may take him/her for a chip scan. Best wishes that he/she is home soon.
