I’m sorry. Have you found your cat yet? If not, following are suggestions gathered from similar posts. Please put large, neon signs out because not everyone is on social media and let all the area vets know about your missing cat. In addition, you can report your missing pet to Cobb Animal Control in case anyone has found it, at https://www.cobbcounty.org/public-safety/animal-services and Cherokee Animal Shelter at http://www.cherokeega-animals.org/reclaim.html as well as other ACs as cats can be transported by vehicle to other areas of Atlanta (Please note that you must report your missing cat to Animal Control every 7 days to stay in their system). Furthermore, look for and post your cat on the various lost/found animal sites on Facebook and on the free websites: www.nextdoor.com (which targets the people near you), https://petfbi.org, www.lostmykitty.com and https://lost.petcolove.org/. These sites will generate free posters for you. Also check with area rescues, www.petfinder.com and https://24petconnect.com/ to see if they rescued your cat from Animal Services. Also be aware of scammers! One way to avoid scammers is to set up a Google Voice Phone Number and post it on Social Media instead of your actual phone number, it’s free. https://voice.google.com/about. Please watch out for this scam: https://consumer.ftc.gov/consumer-alerts/2021/10/google-voice-scam-how-verification-code-scam-works-and-how-avoid-it. Scammers are messaging cat owners & being VERY persistent! DO NOT BELIEVE THEM AND DO NOT OFFER A REWARD! And there are multiple scam posts on other missing/found pet sites, especially Facebook. Do not respond to anyone who tells you to text them because they can help find your missing pet, especially on the "WhatsApp" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAIRkk6zrlU) or on Instagram – especially “Lost Animal Trackers” https://www.bbb.org/article/scams/8612-lost-pet-watch-out-for-this-text-message-scam. https://lost.petcolove.org/help-lost-pets/how-to-recognize-and-avoid-missing-pet-recovery-scams. Other scams are people claiming to be with Animal Control and asking for money online and scammers who will send you a photo that looks like your pet dead and demanding money to tell you the location to retrieve the body. Ignore them. Lastly, FB page “Lost Cats Georgia” has a lot of great resources on their site and provide customized search tips! Their search methods are designed by a Certified Pet Recovery Specialist. Be sure to let them know if your cat is an indoor or outdoor access cat when you register. Another idea is to check feral cat colonies near you which consist of feral and abandoned cats and sometimes missing cats as well. And this site is also very helpful: https://lifelineanimal.org/resources/And the following web pages have some great tips. http://thecreativecat.net/indoor-cat-got-door/ https://bestfriends.org/resources/how-find-lost-cat https://www.catster.com/lifestyle/how-to-find-a-lost-cat Keep responding to your posts every couple of days to remind people of your missing cat. Hope you find your cat and please keep us posted.
