Dar Davies you can share this with Kim too… +6 Safe Harbor Humane Society (now operating as the Wisconsin Humane Society Kenosha Campus) does not reunite lost dogs with owners outside of its normal business hours. The facility is closed to the public on Sundays, Thursday mornings, and after 5:00 PM on weekdays, and does not have on-site staff available for after-hours animal retrievals. So tell me how it would have been faster again???

Dar Davies i guess you can’t read details and I don’t have to explain myself to you. I offered to bring the dog to her as my neighbor was laying down. I was walking over with her on speaker phone to get the dog. That’s why I told her to put him outside so I could come get him. I offered to drop him off at her home and she did not respond and then asked for the address and I said you had your location pinned at 68th I am near the corner of 67th and 60th. I couldn’t bring him back in the neighbors house wet and I couldn’t bring him to my house with my dogs. But while I was managing this and trying to coordinate with her, she was being rude and accusing us of not helping. Which is literally insane. I met up with her and was explaining that it took longer than we expected due to the posts having to go through admin and how I emailed and replied and had to wait for my post to get cleared by admin, he would have been reunited whether it took 1 hr, or 1 day and that should have been the end all, but instead I was treated like a jerk for helping my neighbor, the owner and the dog…I will not stand for a liar. I do nothing but help people and this is not what I ever expected and I will draw the line. It’s not like when the dog showed up we didn’t immediately take action, just because it wasn’t what she wanted doesn’t mean it wasn’t coming from a good place.

Melissa Wolnik okay. If I’m wrong in my assessment of the situation I apologize, but why didn’t you call non emergency number to check for a chip? Nico would have been reunited with Kim much sooner. And why did you have to meet her and not tell her the address of where she could get him?

Dar Davies let’s also talk about the fact that he is reunited and it happened within 3.5 hours and that when my neighbor put him in the fenced yard for me to collar and reunite him he jumped into her pool and out and I had him to the owner and told her exactly what happened and she still made accusations that he was, “Exercised all day, and returned wet.” Lies and slander, for the ultimate goal of reunion. Then the accusations of trying to keep the dog even though he was unified with owner. Had it not been a Sunday and Safe Harbor closed she would have taken him directly but didn’t want him to wait in the stress of the kennels instead of comfort of her home. The ENTIRE purpose was lost on you and the owner.

Dar Davies Here’s where I talk about the frustration of the amount of time to communicate. I have facts only. If there is one thing I can’t stand it’s a liar. The words thank you or I am so happy you found my dog were never spoken, it was immediate accusations and disdain.

Melissa Wolnik I have to agree with Kim. Without knowing any dog’s possible medical issues you shouldn’t feed it or exercise it. You don’t know what its needs are. It could have a heart condition or in this case a problem with the ACL. When you find a dog or cat you keep it comfortable until its owner is found and that’s all. No lost pet site would let you post? Seems like BS to me too. As far as the collar goes, sometimes dogs get out without their collar on. You can’t blame Kim for that. This is all on you. All you had to do was call non emergency number to have them come out and check for a chip. You don’t have to wait until the humane society opens. If you ever find another pet do better. Why do I get the feeling you or your neighbor were going to keep this dog?

Melissa Wolnik As if no one can see where you responded to my post by saying you you "tried" to post. Amazing how your post didn't show up on any lost pet site, for all the hours I checked, until after I posted him lost. It excuses none of your shady actions and injuring my dog by keeping him and swimming with him like he was your pet, instead of contacting nonemergency. Done with your nonsense.
