The cat may belong to a neighbor who allows the cat to roam, or the cat may have been abandoned when someone moved out. The cat does not have a “tipped ear” (tip removed) meaning the cat has not previously been trapped, neutered and/or spayed and released back to the area from which it came, as a “street cat”. TNR prevents further litters of kittens born to suffer life on the streets. Neutering also stops male cats from spraying, which is “territory marking”. Please secure the cat so it can’t escape while you take it to any vet to be scanned for a microchip for free to hopefully locate the owners.
