Go out after dark with a flashlight to see if you can pick up the reflection of his/her eyes. Look in and under everything - bushes, window wells, decks, porches, sheds, open garages, etc. Ask neighbors to keep an eye out for him/her. Try putting outside things that have his/her scent on them, as well as unwashed clothing of your family's, along with something smelly, like tuna. You'll need to monitor to keep other animals away. Someone might suggest putting out his/her litterbox. DON’T! This can attract unwanted visitors that may hinder him/her from coming home.
