Yes please do try to go & knock on as many doors as you can, & talk to as many people as you can around the area. & bring a photo(s) of him too. Persistence & patience is very important. On the way you will also meet some nice people & maybe some new friends as well.
I've been through this just last June actually. My daughter's cat Waffle slipped out the front door of my apt.
Found him 3 1/2 wks later, about a block, actually just at the Hollywood Beach Resort Hotel which is literally right next door to my blgd. But it's a huge complex, so I think 1 block approx. is an estimate.
I think it's wonderful that you are following up on your post here. Sadly lots of people put up posts, & then don't follow up on it.
I'm sorry about your eye, hope it heals fast.
About Waffle I found him in a storage unit, underneath the Hollywood Beach bridge off A1A. A valet parking attendant had seen him at some point..& actually I had a few leads on different people seeing him.. So I always followed up on every lead.
I lost weight on my quest to find Waffle lol
Plus it was June/July & really hot out.
I was obsessed with wanting to find him. But also it was nice walking around here, & meeting neighbors, & nice people, & getting to know my neighborhood.
