Thank you for keeping this pet safe and ensuring that anyone who claims to be the owner IS in fact the rightful owner.
Getting pet scanned for microchip is free many places, such as your vet’s office, petco, petsmart, animal shelter and many fire stations.
Also please contact the local animal shelter and report this pet as found. Pet’s family should call there or go there looking for their fur baby. You can foster the pet at your home, the pet doesn’t have to stay at the shelter but they should know you found him/her. The shelter can also scan for a microchip.Read More
If able, try posting on the local Nextdoor app (if possible), lost .petcolove .org and watching craigslist. If you post to other groups, be sure to add the county, city and state to your posting since the posting may be shared nationally.
Also, take flyers to shelters and vet
offices with a photo and report the pet found. They have a board for both lost and found pets. Remember, not everyone is on Social Media.
(IF able, try taking to a vet to check for a microchip too. Ask for proof of ownership by either vet records or a picture from the phone.)Read More
Any new pet added within 2 miles of your location will be automatically shared to your Nextdoor feed.
The post will automatically update when a pet is reunited.
