In addition to emailing a photo to the animal shelter, go there IN PERSON at least every other day as they only have to keep your dog 5 days if there is no identification. DO NOT CALL and expect the person on the phone to know if your dog is there or not; not everyone at the shelter knows all the dogs that are brought in.

Get your Flyers up right away in case somebody has already found Lucky. You can make them handwritten to get them up quickly just the word lost, a short description and your phone number. Put them on stop signs in the area, farther out than you think he would go as I found a scared Yorkie who had run 4 miles on his tiny legs.

Shared to our page where we have over 52,000 members, many in that area. OWNER, Please join and tag yourself on the post to see responses. Our page is Lost & Found Pets of Columbia, SC Area. Also at the top of our page is a featured option, you can scroll through to the green post which will give you tips on how to find your dog. I will put some in comments here. Also there is a purple post with a list of other Facebook pages nearby to share your post to. Some of these tips are the same as Caroline mentioned above but I will reiterate them.

Shared. search the found section of pawboost and Facebook pet pages. ‼️‼️VIP to go in person to Check every shelter, humane society, rescue and animal control in a 60+ mile radius in person. All intakes do not get posted to website. You never know where a finder will take them bc everything is full or how far they will travel. I’d also email the all their photo. Google and Facebook rescues and ask the shelter to provide names of them. Black river rescue helps find pets with drones. Reach out. They say to hang worn clothing on a fence or tree in the last area they were seen. I know there’s a west cola AC and Cayce AC. There is a small Richland county AC too that feeds into Columbia Animal Services. Def Colombia animal services Kershaw county & Lexington county animal services. Def Kershaw & neighboring small counties. I’d email them all his photo. Plus final victory, pets inc, pawnetto lifeline, final victory animal rescue, homeward bound, because of Roscoe, and so on. There are probably more rescues and shelters out in your area.
