Message from Owner

MISSING CAT. Hello, My family and I are devastated that our indoor cat Hazel has gotten out early morning on September 22 on hollyhock lane off of Marie ave. We think she is most likely scared and hiding nearby so if you live in Roger’s MN sunnyside ests PLEASE be in the lookout and check your backyards, sheds, bushes, and ring camera footage to help bring Hazel home. Especially if you live on hollyhock, lynch, jasmine, or Marie. Any information could help❤️

Greta Kotz okay. Would you recommend waiting outside, calling, monitoring wet food would be helpful for their return or deterring? Idk if familiar people and voices are good or any noise/commotion will scare her away?

Hailey Midthun start fliering the immediate area, too. This will initiate sightings.

If you can get a live trap, that may be worth trying. See if a friend, family member, or neighbor has one sitting around. Or even check with "buy nothing" groups here on Facebook. They usually don't go far, they're just good hiders. Best of luck! 🖤

Greta Kotz yes! we have one there and monitoring almost all of our doors as well as the garage with a crack left open for her to come back through hopefully. But thank you for the advice and we’re open to any other tips as well!

Hailey Midthun she may be too scared to re enter that way. If you have a motion sensor cam or something similar set it outside the door to notify you if she returns overnight.

Greta Kotz we think she may have gotten out the dog door which she had shown zero interest in over the last 2 years until Monday evening.

Cats tend to return to the point of exit in the overnight hours within the first 24-72 hours. Be looking for her at these times. If possible leave the point of exit cracked open so she can re-enter if she returns.

They are usually closer than you think, scared/hiding (unless not fixed). It can be over a week before they venture out for food. Don’t rely on neighbors seeing your missing kitty posts. Dawn and dusk when it’s quieter are good times to go looking and softly call for your cat. *Live traps work well but must be monitored often. Talk to all neighbors and physically check yourself all surrounding sheds, garages, under bushes, and decks (5-house radius). Give your mail carrier a pic with phone # on it. Check and post on Nextdoor, PawBoost, PETFBI, and Petco Love Lost. If they come back, chip and clip if not already done. 🐱
