How did the cat escape - microchipped? If unsure what the escape route is - first check your apartment in detail - furniture's, closets and furniture's that were moved - especially out of the apartment. Check your building - roof, every floor, stairways, basements and elevator shafts. Try to get footages from nearby security camera's right away. If escaped outside please follow these instruction so chances to get the kitty back are increased Go immediately outside and call in the evening / early morning and if possible leave a scent from you nearby. Indoor cats normally stay close , but indoor / outdoor cats are often traveling further away. PERSONAL NETWORKING is KEY and also getting as many CAMERA FOOTAGES as possible. LEAVE FLYERS around your area in hallway of buildings, at frequently visited public places including vet clinics, and also especially where are spaces/basements, yards to hide and to be safe. Include REWARD offer WITHOUT AMOUNT (at the beginning). While distributing flyers EVERYWHERE, SPEAK PERSONALLY to supers/doormen, neighbors, mail carriers, garage clerks and people at public places. COVER a decent area of couple of blocks. and contact feeders of CAT COLONIES and FEEDING STATIONS near by!!!! . Kitty might have been picked up or is locked into a basement or garage - PERSONAL ALERT is KEY! Cut up a pillowcase with your scent on it and tie the pieces around leading to the door/window that he got out of. If possible keep the door/window open and wait.
