I copy & paste my tips, so some may not apply. Most of the time, they will not stray too far from home. I went out at dusk, during the night, and at dawn (when they are most active) and called my cat's name softly and spoke to them. That helped - Munch was hiding under my next door neighbor's back deck. Munch is a talker in the house; I was finally able to get him to talk to me again. Look at your surrounding neighbors' yards - are there any spots/openings that would provide protection from the weather? We put out kibble, water, his litter box, and an article clothing from each of us with our scent on it next to the kibble, sprinkled with some catnip. There are different traps. We were about to use a drop trap when I caught Munch by hand. If you have cameras outside, use them for surveillance. That's how we found out where and approximately what times Munch was most active. My husband and best friend went door to door with the flyers and spoke with our neighbors (I was working the social media). I also called all the local vets to inquire if a kitty like Munch was brought in and emailed them Munch's flyer so they were on the alert of him missing. Same with local rescues. One recommended putting out more than one trap. When it goes below freezing, their paw pads can freeze to the metal cage. If you can afford it, I highly recommend using the PawBoost Alerts. We paid for the Facebook post, Instagram ad, and the comparing our kitty to the found animals they come across. I received a few calls - and a lot of shares online. Got one scammer - so be careful. I know some of these tips are repetitive, but I wanted to share because I feel these tips were instrumental in helping to bring Munch home. Sending pawsitive vibes and hugs. We know the nightmare you are going through. We are praying you find your kitty ASAP. ❤️🐾❤️

You might try a live trap, they are fairly cheap, my Jane wanted to come back but was too overwhelmed and scared, she had made a home under a backyard shed across the street. Eventually she was found eating hamburger in the trap on my front porch and all was right again. It took about 3 weeks for her to show up and i did have to release squirrels and possums along the way which were easy. Tuna in oil also makes a lot of scent. Make sure there's water too. If its cold out, wrap the trap in a blanket and make sure to check it often, check it often no matter what the weather is. In fact, best to keep a camera on it. I believe in Jane's case, the live trap was her only chance. Best of luck and a swift resolve for you I hope

Hope some of these ideas will help... 🔻PUT OUT neon LOST posters, have your neighbors check their ring cams, sheds, garages, under the hood of their cars. Look up in trees, under bushes. 🔻PUT OUT worn clothing, SOCKS, blankets, pillowcases, if possible place where they can blow, cats can smell up to a mile away. Typically they do not travel more than 5 to 7 houses away from home. They are more likely to move at dawn and dusk. Use a flash light then to look for your kitty's eye reflection. If you have a back door, garage door, leave slightly open in case they come home to find shelter there, also call QUIETLY his/her name, shake treats if they respond to that having the door open to a safe space that it can come running back to. They're usually scared and resort to survival instincts, do not chase. ⚠️ smelly cat food might attract but only leave out if you can monitor. Notify your microchip company, mail carrier, your local shelter. Post on neighborhood apps & local lost and found groups in your area (via FB). 👀 If you do have sightings of your kitty and are unable to get them back inside please ask for help in setting a ❤️humane trap. ⚠️⚠️⚠️CAUTION👉with suggestions to contact a lost pet person or service, they should be local and well recommended! A message from someone saying they found your cat and to send a 6 digit code, it's a scam! PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP!🙏
