I have a feeling your shelter is orange county animal care. You must call today. Describe your cat send a flyer in case someone drops it off there. This is critical. They are the big shelter behind the hangers in Tustin.

You must act quickly. Your cat is probably very afraid to be outside. It will be very close by. Keep checking all bushes, trees, under any places it could be hiding. It is critical that you knock on all your neighbors doors today. Ask them if you can check their backyards because often cats will hide in their neighbors backyards. If they are not home, go this evening knock again and check their backyard. In addition, it is critical that you post hundreds of flyers of your cat on every lamp post and stop sign. Make lots of flyers today. A lady in my neighborhood lost her cat. I encouraged her to put flyers up everywhere after a few days someone saw her cat roaming around and called her. She picked up her cat. Get out in the evenings with a flashlight check all bushes trees and hiding places. Shake treats. Please post on nextdoor.com your neighborhood watch. Lots of your neighbors look on this site. Post for days and days. Call the Irvine animal shelter and describe your cat. Bring a flyer there and tell them you lost it. Someone may bring your cat there. This is critical. Also post on all lost pet sites. I pray for a safe return.

If he/she is an indoor kitty it is important he/she has a safe way back in so leave a door open (all day and night) as they typically try to return when it’s late hours and quiet. Open a door or window where they escaped from and crack your garage door so he/she can get back inside safely. Also place your dirty worn clothes outside up off the ground where the breeze will carry your scent. It may lure them back. No food, water or litter box outside because it attracts everyone else. Cats don't usually go too far. Talk to neighbors. He/she might be camped out in their yard, and they don't know it is yours. Also ask neighbors to check their cameras (Ring, etc). Put up signs-IMPORTANT ASAP! Keep in mind, not everyone is on social media. Social Media - post on Facebook, Nextdoor, and PawBoost Lost & Found: Post pictures of your pet on Facebook and ask your friends to pass around. Also, please be aware there are scammers that will text you stating they have your cat and will send you pics if you send them $$ or they will want you to activate a verification code do NOT fall for that!!
