Sorry he is lost.Putting out his used catbox helps find his scent or his bed pad,clothing he lays on to get home.Mornings and evenings are best for searching when cats are roaming more.Using a flashlight and calling there name softly looking under bushes,sheds,etc.Asking neighbors within 10 houses or couple of blocks if they see him to call.Is likely close still.Might be hunting mice at night so check long grasses,stick piles back porches.Show picture to neighbors and ask them to check there garages as cats snoop inside for warmth and mice.Experienced ours doing this before.Hope home soon!!!For warm shelter put straw inside a box,absolutely NO Towels,this steals body heat from them, and put box inside a garbage bag,make 7 "hole to get inside and to keep its body heat inside for a cheap,emergency shelter if nothing available.
