Dear guardian - no - your cat is not ok - he's scared and waiting for you - he's hiding near where he escaped that's what cats do when they escape. I feed cats 1 hour away from me for 2 hours before work -and i feed cats after work and a work full time and i care for over 19 cats at home and at elderly folks homes - you have the time to save his life. If you can get your old nextdoor neighbor to let you put a wifi camera aimed at wet food next door then do taht with this camera: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F3BC8661?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_XQJCTT15VKC3QAYTYKGT BUT IN CASE no nextdoor neighbor will let you use their wifi then you MUST use a battery camera - place it 1 foot away from the food water moat bowl on the ground - place a rock behind it so it doesn't get knocked over. Dear guardian - it's only been a few days OMGOSH You MUST GO BACK and feed your cat and get a camera aimed at the wet food you place there nightly - once caught on caemra coming to the food THEN you can plan to humanely trap him - meaning you set a trap and sit in your car and wait for him. He will die of starvation if you leave it to the universe - i'm so sorry just being brutally honest - HE IS THERE WHERE HE ESCAPED HIDING, in survival mode. Go there and call for him as the sun is setting stay in one place..place water bowl separate from food bowl - place food bowl ON A PLATE or in a larger bowl then add water to the plate/outer bowl to prevent ants from swarming. x0x0x0 with love, damia 650-339-6619
