Final Update: cat rescued : he was up the neighbors tree, about 60 ft, scared and dehydrated. Called fire dept, told us to call OC animal care to see if they had any referrals. They gave me the name of a tree trimmer/removal guy that will get animals out of trees for free - but will take donations. Brett lives in HB but came out to Fullerton (this am he was saving a crow caught in a tree caught in fishing line). Came out and out in his gear and was able to get so high up to get the cat, that had almost fell out several times… what a great guy… If you need tree trimming or removal i highly recommend him. Hopefully you won’t need him to save your cat from a tree. Brett Eller :

Go around late at night calling them with food and flashlight to catch their eyes. Check around your neighborhood under houses and in small places where they may hide. Put stuff out that has yours and their scent on it. Hang flyers around for people to see. Check shelters and vets daily. Update chip info if they have a chip and its has not been update since a move. Ask neighbors to check in their garages incase they ended up trapped in one. I pray you get your baby back safe and soon.

TIPS TO HELP FIND YOUR LOST dog or cat Put the streets/city that your pup or kitty was lost in your original post - people would know where to look! Check homeless encampments. They are getting betterment More aggressive about picking up. lost dogs or cats & keeping animals with thems Post on Pawboost, post on Nextdoor, also post city/streets missing from, walk the neighborhood calling his name, notify the shelter that he’s missing, post flyers in the neighborhood. If your dog or cat is chipped call the company and report them missing. Prayers. - Put dog's bed, piece of your unwashed clothing & bowl of water (no food) in your front yard. Dogs can pick up the scents & find their way home. Walking around the neighborhood where lost, popping a wet food can & calling his name helps too Check with the kids in the neighborhood they usually know where all the animals are or are taken to be safe - If applies call microchip company to report your dog or cat lost & update your contact info. -Smaller dogs & cats tend to be rescued within a mile from their home. Bigger dogs might travel a ways - Post on Facebook area lost & found pet, community & shelter pages, in newspapers & on Craig's List. - Go door to door w/flyers. Speak w/as many people as possible. - Put a large sign in your front yard w/your cat's picture that says missing. Also post a neon poster at the intersection near where the dog or cat went missing or sighted. - File lost report with shelters your area & surrounding - Check shelters in person daily. Ask to see dogs or cats in isolation. Especially cats, they get out into the feral cat room/bldg when the shelter is overcrowded or by mistake. You have to ask to be let in there by an employee Cats & deceased dog or cat list. If you can't go daily check shelter's website. ⁃ Check shelter's found report for dogs found but not at the shelter. - Take flyers to shelters. Contact Lori Terry and Laura Fata on this site. DO IMMEDIATELY since she's a purebreed or even if he or she is not CHECK ON CRAIGSLIST OR OFFER UP to see if your baby is being sold there for profit by the thieves PET detective are also available for later on once you've done everything else Off this list (above) try this first Neighbors sheds. - could get shut in there Kids in the neighborhood -- they usually know where all the animals are or have been taken away

‼️LOST CATS‼️ GREAT ADVICE BY Lisa Fellers Indoor only cats and limited outdoor access cats never go far. They go into survival mode and hide in silence. Most of them will not respond when they are in survival mode. 3 AM is the best time to find a missing indoor only cat. This isn't the time they become most activye and responsible. Sit and quietly call for your kitty. Try to stay low, standing is intimidating to cats. Place some dirty socks and pillow cases outside. Your scent will attract your kitty. If you have a garage place the items near the garage door and crack the door enough for her to get in. DO NOT leave food or litter box outside, it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats. Because indoor only cats hide so well they are not as likely to be killed by a predator. Don't give up, it can take months to find a missing indoor only cat. Use a flashlight as late at night as you can to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of her eyes. The best chance of you being reunited with your cat is to do a methodical search of the area. Most indoor only cats will be within 160 feet of your home. Survival mode last 5 to 14 days but can last longer. Once their hunger gets to a maximum they snap out of it but this is a dangerous time because they come out of hiding. The majority of cats will try to make a break for home on the 5th night. In addition to posted flyers, make mini flyers and hand them out to your neighbors. Some people don't pay attention to posted flyers. It's VERY VERY important that you look for her as late at night as you can. If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that’s a good indication the missing cat is in that area. Wildlife and motion activated cameras are also helpful. a lot of people are successful trapping their indoor only cats. If you decide to trap, you must watch the trap closely, predators can a cat in a trap. Additional tips to bring kitty back home If you haven’t yet, leave some of your unwashed clothing and your cat’s bed outside for him to smell home. Never leave a litter box out, as this attracts coyotes/predators. If you can, please leave a door or window (even a garage door) cracked open for him to return through, especially during the night when it’s quiet out; this works well, but may take a few nights if they are in hiding. It helps to leave some food out inside the home to help lure him in. Cats usually attempt to return home during the night/early morning hours. He’s probably hiding nearby. Check shrubs, under cars, crawl spaces, up in trees and on roof tops (in case your cat has been chased). Have neighbors check their garages/sheds. Post signs around the neighborhood (even further out at intersections in case kitty has been chased out of the area), since some people are not on social media. Bright neon poster board works well. Signs tend to work faster than waiting for someone to see a post online. Beware of scam calls that ask for a code. Post on NextDoor and PawBoost. Check surrounding animal shelters and leave flyers there - also, take flyers to vet offices. If microchipped, notify the chip company that your cat is missing. Update contact info if needed. If you have motion sensing cameras, check them to see if kitty has returned

Don't put her litter box outside that will invite other cats and predators which will muddle her scent. I've had some experience with this and actually read an articlethat said that the safer way is to put out something with your scent you are her safe place your scent will carry on the air.or her blanket you can change it if you think it has lost its scent
