🚨 URGENT: MISSING CAT – PLEASE HELP FIND ASHER 🚨 My 1‑year‑old gray cat, Asher, is missing and I am desperately trying to bring him home. He disappeared on June 9th near Sycamore twp / Deer Park, and he has never been gone this long. Asher is all gray, short-to-medium fur, with a very fluffy tail that stands out. He is extremely friendly and trusting, so he may approach people or be hiding somewhere quiet and scared. 📍 Last Seen: Sycamore twp (near Deer Park) 🐱 Name: Asher 🎂 Age: 1 year 💛 Temperament: Sweet, gentle, approachable 🐾 Unique Feature: Big fluffy tail PLEASE check your porches, garages, sheds, bushes, decks, and any small hiding spots. Cats often hide silently when frightened — he may be closer than we think. If you see him, even if you’re unsure, please contact me immediately. Any sighting matters. I’m heartbroken and just want my baby home safe. Thank you to everyone who shares this and keeps an eye out. Ladya1667@yahoo.com

Please also notify your vet and vets nearby and in the surrounding area in case your pet is brought in for care. Notify any and all shelters and humane societies as well. I have heard it’s helpful to check shelters daily as possible. Please know we are praying! 🖤

Cross streets? I would put his litter box outside, under cover, along with some really smelly cat food and some clothes you wore recently to attract him. Keep an eye on it. Some people say not to put the box/food out because it might attract predators. I have known it to work. Check carefully around the outside of your house and your neighbors’ houses. Cats don't usually go far initially and they can tuck themselves into unbelievably small and unusual spaces. One person found her cat hiding in the grill on her patio after searching for three days. Go out late at night when it's quiet and call him softly. Make large, easily read flyers and post them around your neighborhood with the cat’s picture and your contact info. Post a lost ad on nextdoor.com. Ask your neighbors to check garages, sheds, under decks - anywhere a cat can hide and get shut in. Borrow a trap from a shelter or vet. Don’t give up. Good luck!

These are general search tips and not all may apply in your situation. Search at night w/ a flashlight (eyes will glow). Check up in trees and inside/under things in your yard and up to 4 - 5 houses away. Search garages, sheds, under decks and bushes, in crawl spaces, behind AC units - any place the cat might be trapped or hiding. Many cats go into hiding mode for safety and won't come when they hear their owner's voice but try calling and try either shaking a can/bag of treats or carrying an open (smelly) can of cat food or fish. Put something w/ the cat's scent on the porch (cat bed, scratching post, sofa pillows). Keep your garage door up enough to allow entry. Keep fresh bowls of water out. Put up large missing cat posters (neon poster board works well), talk to neighbors (leave info for those not home), post on all local social media groups and make sure to check with local animal control at least once a week (better to go in person but at least call and send them a photo). If not found at night with a flashlight, go out during early morning, before dawn, as many cats are active around that time. If not found in a few days, you can always buy a humane cat trap but traps *must* be checked multiple times each day, every day. If the cat is microchipped, please make sure the chip company has your updated contact information. And even if the cat has a chip, you still need to check with animal control as chips sometimes are overlooked or migrate down. Please search often and don't give up hope.

Please place his bedding outside, along with the owner's unwashed clothing front and back door with a can of tuna on each entrance, you can leave your garage door a bit open as well. In case it comes in that way. And leaving food there as well. Also vacuumed home dirt in a stocking hanging it in front and back of home enterence . Show your neighbors a picture of the cat. Ten houses to the left ten house to the right front and back if they spot him to give you a call immediately. Go early in the morning and shake treats calling the cats name when things are quiet.. Best of luck finding your kitty 🙏 ❤️🏡🐾
