Post on Nextdoor and Ring apps. Ask neighbors to check car hoods, garages and sheds immediately. Make sure to tap hoods of the car around. Keep an entryway open for cat to get in. Buy or loan a live cat trap from online stores or local tnr groups. Leave your garage open with cat to enter. Put some food and your clothing there for smell. Get a motion sensor camera to detect when cat is around your property

General Information: Set up a scent station. Hang clothes with your scent on it (Worn clothing from owner) high up outside so the familiar scent can travel and guide the cat back home. Ask your neighbors to check their yard/could be accidently stuck in their garage or shed. (If applicable) Check doorbell or home camera - or ask neighbors to check their camera. Post Fliers with a picture of the cat and your contact information in the area the cat went missing. Not everyone is on Social Media and posters have worked in that if spotted a location can be provided. If a cat is scared they make themselves safe by finding a good hiding spot and often times hide in silence. Look in bushes - bring a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Best time to find your cat is in the early morning hours when the noise level is low and they feel safe. Leave an access point open for the cat to return. This is important if they do come back in the middle of the night. Prayers your cat returns/ or is found safely. Beware of scammers.

❗️Please edit your post to include the cross streets and neighborhood. This important information is needed so others can help you. Thank you. ⚠️ Time is of the essence so getting outside ASAP is crucial.(Seriously. Like now.) ➡️ Go out OFTEN, several times, at various times of day. 🌙 Especially during the quiet hours late at night. Cats often venture out between dusk and dawn/early morning. 🔶️ BUT ANYTIME IS THE RIGHT TIME TO LOOK! ❗️ ➡️ STAY OUT for as long as you can each time. Search in ALL directions outward, in a radius, from your home. ☑️EXPAND your search area each time, rechecking the areas as you go along. 🐈 Calmly call for or talk to kitty; so they doesn't hear the anxiety in your voice and stay hidden. * Fearful cats often stay silent even when their beloved owner is near. 🟡 Take a flashlight to check for eye shine. Day or night. ↪️ Look under and inside EVERYTHING. * Cats can hide in some really tiny and unusual places. Also check under decks, in sheds, crawl spaces, garages, etc. 🍤 Bring treats, tuna, toys, or a friend. 🗣 Record any other pet or favorite family to play while you search. ☑️ Pause. Listen a lot. And listen long. ❇️ Make easy to read flyers to hand out to your neighbors and area businesses, etc. 🏘 Go door to door. Talk to EVERYONE. Leave a flyer with them and on EVERY door. Be sure to ask them to check security footage. 👀 ✴️ Make BIG BRIGHT posters with a large photo and easy to read. Keep it simple and straight to the point. Use bold print for key points. (Passersby may only have a chance to glance at it.) ✴️ Put posters in your yard and several around your area.(Remember their locations to remove, for after kitty is home.) 💦 Put out water near home(and food only if monitored) 🚫 But please avoid setting out a litterbox, as they tend to attract predators and other unwelcome visitors that may deter kitty's desire to come near. 🐾️ Hang out kitty's bedding and some of your unwashed items for a scent trail. 🐾 Create a trail with cut up (dirty towel) pieces low to the ground (in bushes works best) leading towards home. ✅️ Post on Nextdoor, Pawboost, Petco, Craigslist, and the county website. ✅️ Check Facebook for your neighborhood/area's chat group (s), there may be several. Join and post there. ⚠️ Be scammer savvy. ✅️ Alert local veterinarians and pet related establishments nearby. 💟 Being outside is key. So please spend as much time as possible out in you yard and that area. 🏠 If possible, please leave a way for kitty to get back inside. 🔊 Double check that the microchip has your current information. ✔️ Carefully consider and research the use of a live trap. 😽 Don't give up. Recently a kitty was found & reunited 44 days later! Prayers for Potato's safe return.🐈💕 #tabbcat #tuxedotabby #tabbywhite
