I hope you are reunited with Roscoe soon! Here are some helpful tips for lost pets: 1. Add pet pics, pets name, date/time, location/cross streets pet last seen, gender, if spayed/ neutered, if microchipped, and wearing a collar or other type of ID. 2. Include your contact info and check for comments and private messages 3. Call 311 for Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) and report lost pet, https://search.app/aqFmANjE8maBVPAM8 4. Check 24petconnect website; includes pics and details of all animals in local shelters. https://24petconnect.com/ 5. Visit OCAS to see if your pet is there; they don’t post all incoming pets on their website. 6. Post same info on Pawboost website, Nextdoor and Ring apps. Also OCAS website - Lost/Found pet forum.. https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/de730145e91342c8aba50e90676b9572/? 7. Don’t assume everyone uses social media. Post Lost Pet flyers inside clear letter sheet protectors with pet photo, contact info, etc within a 6-8 block radius. 8. Contact local vets, including emergency vets, and businesses in the area. Provide lost pet info and distribute flyers. 9. If your pet is found, update your original posts.

Nextdoor Experiment - Hashtagging Lost & Found Animal Posts With the number of dogs and cats that are being lost and found, it's almost impossible to match up the found ones with the lost ones' owners. As an experiment, let's try a hashtag system. The Nextdoor search system at the top of the home screen recognizes hashtags and will search for them successfully. So, if you post a lost dog, please put #LostDog at the beginning or end of your post. If you post a lost cat, put #LostCat. If you find a dog or a cat, put #FoundDog or #FoundCat. To search for hashtags in the Nextdoor Search bar, just type in the appropriate hashtag and tap the search icon or the return key on your keyboard. Once the search is completed, tap the "Posts" tab at the top of the screen. This will filter the results to show only Posts. Then scroll through the list. If you've lost an animal, search for #FoundDog or #FoundCat If you've found an animal, search for #LostDog or #LostCat Also, if you posted a lost pet and was later reunited with them, please either delete the original post or edit the post and place the hashtag #reunited at the very top of the post's content (at the very beginning of the post). To edit a post or comment, tap on the three dots in the upper right and select 'Edit' from the pop-up menu. Not everyone will read this post, so those of you who do, please spread the word and let's make this work. Hope this helps!
