Sassy was lost after running out the door, she’s an indoor cat and is not used to being outside. Also, she has medical issues and needs cat food. We are missing her and worried sick 😩

***If cat is fixed and inside only*** ❤️Honestly - the magic time is 11p-6a in spring/summer (8pm-6am in fall/winter) - when no humans are outside.❤️ That is when they feel comfortable coming out of hiding. *Sit on steps/porch by where cat escaped - talk softly. Let cat come to you. Avoid eye contact. *Lost pets will not act "normally" - they are in survival mode. *Don't give up ©️ Tina Marie

***If cat is fixed and indoor only*** PLEASE read & follow tips: 🔥These suggestions I learned when my cat was lost - I was doing the opposite in most cases - and many years of animal rescue🔥 *During the day - sit for a while on a porch/steps and talk softly - to a friend/family member or to the kitty. Many times they recognize family voices and will come out of hiding. Shaking a favorite cat treat container may entice. If you see it, don't jump up to grab the cat - let it come to you. Pretend to cry. *Go out when dark with a flashlight and look under/over/behind/inside EVERYTHING near your house - a flashlight will make a hiding kitty's eyes glow. *MANY cats are recovered sitting on a porch LATE at night when no one is outside and they feel comfortable coming out of hiding (spring/summer 11p-6am or fall/winter - as early as 8p or 9p-6am) & talking softly. 💥2a-4am magic hrs💥 *They go into survival mode and hide. Don't yell the cat's name - speak softly. Inside cats are usually found hiding (under a tarp or deck) or trapped (in a garage, shed, etc) within a 5 home radius. Ask neighbors to check. *Put an old baby monitor next to dry food - you will hear when food is being eaten. Smelly food may help (tuna in oil, sardines, rotisserie chicken). *Cats can smell up to a mile away. Place a piece of dirty clothing (the stinkier the better!) or a blanket they sleep on outside. *Leave a garage door/window open slightly if possible - just enough that kitty could return on it's own. *Put sign in front of house, in case someone took in assuming cat was a stray. *Don't give up❣ ©️ Tina Marie

Kathleen Shafer Great! The tips I have wouldn't have worked if both weren't true (Fixed & Indoor Only). PLEASE take the time to read them - they really work! I keep them constantly updated. Learned the hard way when mine was missing - did all the WRONG things.

Since kitty is fixed and indoor only...probably hiding scared under something nearby or stuck in a garage or shed. Go outside any time right now and into the wee hours of the morning with a flashlight and look under things to see eyes glowing. Indoor fixed kitties rarely go far and are usually found hiding scared nearby. Look under everything...porches, decks, sheds, cars, bushes, etc. Look at night and into the wee hours of the morning with a flashlight to see eyes glowing. Ask/tell neighbors. Flyers =sightings. Consider using a humane trap ASAP. Please no litter box outside because it can attract predators and potentially keep your kitty from returning. Prayers for a safe return. If you're able you can also try leaving a door, garage door or window cracked open to let kitty come back in. A video doorbell or trail camera can be helpful to see if kitty is coming around when you're sleeping.

Jimmy Reagan she was indoors, someone opened the door to go outside and she bolted. If you don’t have anything nice to say, please keep your judgmental comments to yourself

Very important! If your cat/dog is microchipped PLEASE double check to make sure the microchip is REGISTERED and up to date with your current information and telephone number incase someone finds your cat/dog and takes it somewhere to get scanned so that they can call you. You should have the chip number in your paperwork from who IMPLANTED the chip in. You will need the BRAND of chip to be able to call them and check to see if it is REGISTERED and up to date. If you only have the number and Not the BRAND of chip you can enter it for free on this national website. When you enter the chip number in it will ONLY tell you the BRAND of chip so that you can call them and check to see if it is REGISTERED and up to date with your current information and telephone number. https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-search/

Buy, rent or borrow a humane trap and set it up asap. It must be monitored, kept in the shade and covered on top because of the weather. Tractor supply, Lowes, Home Depot, and Amazon sell them. Certain animal shelters will rent them out. Keep in mind you may catch a raccoon and you need to know how to release it safely

Put something with your cat's scent on it outside on the porch such as a blanket, clothes, toys etc. Sprinkle cat nip on it too if you have any
