Please alert the nonemergency police. Many people call the police when they find a lost dog. Please also go door-to-door and speak to your neighbors and ask them to check their cameras. Make signs and put them all over your neighborhood. The sign can be simple and say something like "Lost Dog. Small white dog" and put your phone number on the signs. Be advised that you will get some scam calls, but you should also get legitimate phone calls from people who have either seen your dog or by someone who has found your dog. The scammers will be the ones asking for money versus legitimate legitimate people will not ask you for anything.

You should put out some of his food, some of his blankets, toys and anything that has his scent on it. Also set out some clothing that has your family’s scent on it as well. It may help him find his way back home Also, go out at night w/ a flashlight and shine it around. Dogs eyes glow at night, shine it around in the woods by your house, in any garages or sheds, under any decks / porches & under cars etc

All the above advice + Make sure you go to the shelters, animal control, humane societies & every rescue you can think of in person and check for your dog or cat as often as you can. Don’t rely on just calling to check for them. The shelters are understaffed and overwhelmed right now, they may not recognize your dog or cat from al description over the phone. And, put up flers & post on love of louie, next door, etc., etc
