Double check to Include in ALL your lost social media and flier postings... 1/ Date Lost/last seen 2/ nearest cross streets where last seen, neighborhood name, city and zip code 3/ CURRENT photos [baby pics may look dif then adult] 4/ please include your cell in lost posts so if your sweetie is spotted or found you can be reached ASAP before bird may fly off to another location: 5/ IF banded mention but keep the band imprint info confidential; can be used to ID rightful owners 6/ Type bird species [ie budgie, macaw etc AND the words bird parrot in the thread header so search engines will pick up those words if a finder types in found BIRD or PARROT or BUDGIE, PARAKEET etc etc Just follow if you get anything like this: ignore/block/delete! ‼️Note: Comments with “pet trackers” Instagram etc types are scammers too🤬‼️

know you may all have done some of this already but putting all out here..🙏 IF banded on leg, keep imprint info confidential, it will ID you as rightful owner proof ‼️Put cage, perch, carrier (what’s familiar)out to see with food and water and treats toy etc‼️ This is cage without any other birds inside. Set in safe place. - tell neighbors to check their bird feeders and water sources [pools, ponds] carports , etc. These birds can fly, so make sure you do a 25 mile radius of posting in l n f pet groups. Your bird will be most active out searching for food at first light [dawn] and dusk so you need to be outside pre-dawn, [they roost in place overnight as they do not see in the dark] play your bird's breed vocals and sounds, recordings, etc call, whistle, shake food or treat bags etc do whatever it takes to make vocally respond as you will hear before you see him/her Bring fav food and toy to get attention So... if bird is up higher then you can reach - in a tree, roof etc somewhere that requires some coaxing: Here are some retrieval scenarios FOR DAYTIME ONLY PLEASE: https://http://resourcesforlostfoundparrots.blogspot.com/.../retr... Here is Detailed FULL VERSION pdf of lost bird protocols.... https://drive.google.com/.../0B78YYzbJx75hMmZyM3J.../view... Also, if you haven't yet please post ASAP in your HOA, Ring, Nextdoor.com sites etc; check off all surrounding neighborhoods for widest distribution File lost pet reports with all surrounding cities and country shelters and check for stray take-ins. Posted on Lost and Found birds of the US. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CicKfrNNj/?mibextid=wwXIfr We are so sorry to hear your bird is missing. Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*
