Sharon Starich it's not a good idea to put out the litter box, it attracts predators. Your worn clothing with your scent is recommended

If I’ve sent this before, please disregard. Good luck in finding your cat. Helpful tips accumulated over the years. He or she is likely hiding nearby. Cats are scared when they get out and hide as fast as they can. Sometimes they won’t come out of hiding for days or even weeks. Their brain is in survival mode. One cat took 14 days to show up at the trap on owners front porch. First thing to do is look around outside under yours and neighbors porches, sheds and tiny areas you think he/she wouldn’t even fit in, because usually they can. Don’t forget to look in trees. 1. Hang lots and lots of posters. Every stop sign and intersection in your neighborhood. Then go to major intersections. 2. If POSSIBLE and without attracting wild animals Get some cans of Mackerel. Take the juice and put it in a spray bottle and add some water. Spray it in the trees and bushes and along your home foundation. Spray it leading to a big bowl of Mackerel near the door he got out of. One of the best ways is to get a Trap (Home Depot, Lowe’s, Feed Supply Store) and a camera( you can get an great one on Amazon for about $20 called Tapo(protect from weather), unless you have a home security camera. Set it up near the door he got out of. Put the bowl of mackerel in the back of the trap. Spray the juice leading to the trap and into the trap. Line the bottom of the trap with your dirty towel. Change the food and towel twice a day. Be prepared for raccoons, opossums, a skunk in certain areas, and any strays in your area. If a stray is caught and friendly please take to a vet to be scanned for a microchip.. 3. Ask neighbors to check garages and sheds.. 4. Sit outside in the evening talking calmly. Talk and say his name like you would if he was with you. You may have to do this for several hours for several nights. It could take weeks before he shows up. Don’t go after him if you see him. Just keep talking and have him come to you.. 5.Put items of the cat near your house and in trap 6. Walk around the neighborhood to get your scent out. 7. Go out with a flashlight at night, calmly walking around looking for the glow of his eyes. Calmly talking to yourself saying his name, so he hears your voice. This can be very helpful. A friend found her cat this way after missing for 6 days. The cat was 5 houses away on the edge of the woods. 8. YouTube search “How to Find a Lost Cat” video. Great information! I know of a blind cat that was found after a month. 9. One woman played “Cat attractions sounds #46”on Tik Tok and her cat came home. It was posted by @catmi7 Cats usually come out at night. Don’t give up. Many people give up too soon. This could be a marathon, not a sprint. 🙏🏻🐾❤️ Cats are typically not scent animals like dogs with their owners scent. Do have cat nip on hand, a laser light toy and maybe a cat toy wand. Often when owners see the cat outside the cat is not ready to come home and will run. Sprinkle catnip on area and sit on ground a distance away. Let them roll in it and "take the edge off". Crawl closer and distract it with toy wand or laser. When distracted, grab it and get a good grip on the back of its neck and hold tight against you and get in house fast. 🙏🙏 ◦

I truly believe they come back. Especially if they aren’t use to going outside. You just have to keep checking. They don’t go far. Everyday and night call his name up and down your area. Leave the garage door ajar, back patio door open and any backyard gate, anything to get the cat closer to your house. Throughout the night….. dusk until 4am go out every 30 minutes to an hour. I did that for 2 to 3 days and sure enough at 3 AM, my cat came back meowing at my back door. I know it sounds like a lot but it’s worth it to get them back. I hope you find him soon. Make sure you put up flyers around your neighborhood with a description of your cat and your phone number. Maybe someone will spot him/her somewhere and contact you . Good luck. ❤️🐾 Check Lee County Domestic Animal Services everyday. Go there and give them a picture. Check the animal if you can. https://www.leegov.com/animalservices/lostpet/lostsearch

Someone had the best idea where you can buy those magnets for the side of your car doing like 50 or $70 and it'll have the picture of the dog and it'll say lost dog with your number and that way while you're in the neighborhood and driving around they will see this also I thought it was a great idea
