Message from Owner

This is my baby Oliver, he’s been missing since 4/23 and I’m so worried about him😭. I’ve had him for 13 years, ever since I was a little kid. He’s always preferred the outdoors but never goes far from the hse and usually sits on my porch or lays in his heated cat hse. He’s very friendly and will come up to people for pets or food. If anyone has seen him please call me at!

I'm so sorry about your baby.🥺💔 Most cats stay close to home so it is critical to stay as proactive, and persistent, as possible--even when it's an outdoor-access cat. ●Crack your garage door or leave a porch door open so it can get inside. Cats return at night when you're sleeping so you miss them. This also ensures if your cat was chased away, it can sneak back inside when it can. ●Check everywhere outside even in drain pipes and drains, in logs, under bushes and cars, up in trees and anywhere it's collar could get hung. Use a flashlight after dark as it will make your cat's eyes glow. ●Check under your house and your neighbor's houses, in sheds, garages, bats, etc. ●Put food in a plastic container with a lid and periodically shake it and call your cat's name. ●Print flyers for neighbors and businesses in the area. ●Put posters in public areas, like on street signs and in your front yard, and offer some type of reward, if you can. ●Put the reward amount on the flyers and posters. A reward will incite people to intentionally be on the lookout for your cat or to return it to you. ●Work with a cat rescue to immediately set a cat trap or you can purchase one at Tractor Supply, Home Depot or on Amazon and set it yourself. You will need to monitor the trap(s) ●Post on the Ring app, Nextdoor app and Pawboost and visit pet rescues/shelters in person regularly to see if someone has found your cat and has taken it to one. Give them a flyer and report your cat as missing. ●Consistently visit rescues and shelters. They only hold a cat 3 to 5 days without a microchip before putting it up for adoption, and only for 7 days with a microchip. Even if the cat has a microchip, the chip can float and be missed by the scanner. ●Set notification alerts for the Facebook lost and found pets groups in case someone has found your cat. ●Please read this article, specifically the outdoor-access lost cat section: https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-cat-behavior/

yea Sothere unfortunately since my mom got him when I was a kid and he’s always been indoor outdoor I can’t really force him to stay in all the time now😭. I have two other cats that are indoor only and I would’ve never let them go outside in the first place, but that wasn’t my decision when we got Oliver and now he loves the outdoors and does not do well if you keep him inside all the time (I’ve tried many times in the past). I’ve hung up posters all around my area and checked with my neighbors who were home today but nothing. He’s very friendly so my hope is that maybe someone picked him up thinking he was a stray or something. But I’ve been taking walks around the neighborhood and spending time outside calling for him incase he’s still outside in the area 😢 and I’ll be calling local shelters tomorrow once they’re open. luckily he’s microchipped so I think if he ends up at a shelter they’ll scan him. I really appreciate your advice and support ❤️ I’m hoping I’ll find him soon

Lots of other animals roaming outside this time of year I would definitely keep that baby inside from now on especially with his age beautiful baby by the way please keep your door cracked as much as possible so that baby can get back in something might have made him skittish like turn the TV on so he can see a light at night and keep the door cracked or open as much as possible and then definitely check with the neighbors if you have to post flyers I'm going to assume this baby is going to come back in your house if you open that door in the evening on or in the morning Remember shelters only do a 72-hour hold check with all of them severe County animal shelter is great I would take them a flyer and also check with young Williams although most likely that babies outside your house somewhere definitely open the door turn the TV on It is that time of year where there's a lot of other animals outside so and the weather is nicer so he may have took a stroll roamed a little too far I think your baby will come back just crack the door and check with the neighbors definitely keep in touch with the SHELTERS
