Thank you for saving him! Please carry him to an avian vet to make sure he’s healthy and okay cause we don’t know how long he was outside and how hard it was on his body. (If you need recommendations on one, I can recommend you to mine, he’s great!) Look out for any signs of illness such as being fluffed up, lethargic, tail bobbing, beak clicking (respiratory issue) and any signs of weakness. These signs can be fatal and needs immediate medical attention. And give him food like chopped up veggies like broccoli, shredded carrots and budgie seeds and water and maybe some toys, swings, and mirrors in his cage. Healthier food instead of seeds are pellets such as Zupreem natural pellets and Harrison’s Superfine pellets. Nutriberries are a great treat for them as well! If you decide to give seeds, Dr Harvey seeds and Vita Higgins seeds are recommended. He needs to be in a warm environment. About 72-75 degrees and since he’s alone and scared, he needs to be around people and not isolated. They need lots of love and I’m sure he went through a lot outside. Thank you for taking care of him. 🙏🏼 If you don’t find the owner and you decide to keep him let me know, I can send you advice on budgie care, lifestyle, diet, and everything you need to know and if you rehome him please make sure it’s someone trusting and loving. Also, If you can’t find the owner keep us updated. But please keep him safe and warm indoors. Outside is dangerous for them Do not use any aerosols, no self cleaning ovens or anything with teflon coating (non stick cookware). The fumes can a bird in seconds. Any oils such as essential oils, anything scented, Lysol, rubbing alcohol, Teflon from nonstick cookware, diffusers, candle, paint smell, etc.. anything scented in general or fumes are unsafe for birds. It’s best NOT to use these things around your birds. And if you ever have the window open like while you’re cooking, make sure there’s a secure mesh. Doors and windows always have to be secure and closed to prevent our birds from accidentally flying out. Having a toxic free and clean environment where no accidents can happen is best. These fumes can be fatal and they’re small and delicate. Always have an avian vet / emergency vet number incase of any emergencies as well. Do not allow dogs, cats, or other pets to interact with the budgie. When you cover the cage at night, use a night light as well so they don’t get night frights Always ask for proof of ownership before giving him back to someone who claims this is their bird. Message me if you need any advice If you don’t find the owner, please contact Long Island budgie rescue for further help. They have a Facebook page! Also wild bird fund. If you don’t find the owner, please contact your local bird rescue for further help. Or if you decide to keep him let me know and I’ll send you budgie lifestyle, diet, care tips, and everything I know! Let me know if you need a budgie care guide, I can message it to you. And if you rehome him please make sure it’s someone trusting and loving who will give him a good life 🙏🏼 Electrolyte recipe you can add to his drinking water to help his immune system from what he went through outside 1 cup water 1/2 tablespoon sugar 1/8 teaspoon baking soda 1/8 teaspoon salt This is also helpful too: https://www.chewy.com/morning-bird-thrive-bird-supplement/dp/749470?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=22359145913&utm_content=&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22362842089&gbraid=0AAAAADmQ2V2JYniCGBD9Wfigc_e_VKHoR&gclid=CjwKCAjwxrLHBhA2EiwAu9EdM4lSOrf5Ifq7OpyY7Nd7QPR49449qnj8dPnFuVN6ZBW4AMq2VWezdxoCymcQAvD_BwE
